Story-Induced Emotional Trauma
Those books in the picture are archaic. I was reminded of the illustrations in the Land of Oz books, although it could also be from Alice in Wonderland and the like. The drawing is probably a hundred years old. The meme could be perhaps 60±30 years old. Just goes to show that memes are older than we think.
Then there's the other side: the experience of having caused someone else emotional trauma from your story. (It's happened to me.)

When I saw it, I immediately thought by "finishing a book" the meant finished writing a book, since the email was from Storymind a writing tips newsletter I subscribe to.
It was only after posting it here that I realized that they meant finished reading a book.
