The Cover
A young lady sits on a rock on a hill overlooking a village, as far as I can tell. She's watching a total solar eclipse, where by a lucky accident, the sun has emitted a huge flare. It's a nice, spooky picture.
I wonder, the written blurb. Isn't there a bit too much for a paperback book? Maybe the picture would go on the front, and the blurb on the back? It still might be too much.
The "wisdom of a mere mortal" -- wouldn't that be better worded as the "foolishness of a mortal"?

Thanks!
I like it.

By now, I have absolutely no memory of what I was thinking when I wrote that response. But I'm sure that I was responding to some kind of cover picture and text.
