Princess of Aragon had many explicit scenes in it. The story is dealing with a forced marriage, feminization and making Thomas into his submissive wife and it had many of those scenes in it
but the question is should I include them, or pass them and just refer to those scenes briefly and say they happened after the fact
I want the story to be read and enjoyed so I am strongly considering removing much of the explicit scenes or at least making them more brief without the detail

I've written completely G-rated stories and X-rated one and posted them here to good responses. Just rate and categorize your story honestly and your audience will find you. A warning, X-rated stories get reads but usually not many kudos or comments.
An alternative here is A-rated. These are stories with adult themes and elements not shying away from stuff you might not see in an R-rated movie. But they are common in books and not uncommon in European movies. You might say that A-rated stories are erotic but not so much explicit.

I'm not sure how much my erotica would be accepted here. For example, I'm not sure how interested readers here would be in a cunnilingus tournament. A TG-TS-CD-related story of that explicitness would probably be accepted, but of course my particular story had absolutely none.
I have to admit that a certain category of erotica that I dabble in, concerns me the most -- even if it's TG. The one story I posted here in that category wasn't well-received at all, although the most common complaint was about a 21yo 6-foot-plus college senior disguising himself as a 12yo girl, later becoming 8yo. (Of course, this can happen in VR, which is where it all happened..)

What you have to ask yourself is whether deleting or softening the scenes harms the integrity of your story. And if it does do you want to compromise your story in search of more reads or kudos. Only you can answer that question.

Don't blink: you might miss the backlash
What happens is that you feel that you're setting off a bomb, but it's followed by silence. The readings and votes pile up, but no one says a word about it. I guess the readers don't want to go on record as "people who like that sort of thing."
And of course that's perfectly fine. No one's obliged to leave a comment.
Then, when you *do* get a comment, it can center on some tiny, trivial detail. Nothing about the sex, the lurid scenes, etc. On one of my stories, it amounted to someone asking me, "Why did you make that female character dress like a girl?" (There was more of it in the private messages than in the comments.)
So, where I'd expect to be defending explicit scenes or gratuitous sensuality or objectification, or to find myself accused of writing pornography, I found that I had to explain that women often wear dresses; this character is a woman; therefore, there is nothing unconstitutional about her wearing a skirt. Maybe this character didn't want to; she may not have liked being forced to; maybe it was humiliating [I wonder if THAT's what the author was getting at? I'll have to ask, next time I look in a mirror], but it's not as though I invented the idea of women wearing skirts.
Still, in the midst of everything else that happened... all of the story elements that alarmed even me, and the pieces requiring CAUTION tags -- the few comments I got were misguided misreadings about something perfectly normal.
I'm not exaggerating in the least. Now I can laugh about it, but it pissed me off pretty well at the time.
So, yes, do unleash your libidinous story! You'll be glad you did, especially if you don't pull back at any point. It's worth it: remember to brace for the backlash, and try to laugh at the nitpicks.

Scenes of a Sexual Nature
I have written stories with a variety of sexual content. What I establised pretty early on was that those stories with hardly any discernable sexual content were my most popular (measured in Kudos) and I consequently developed a range of crossdressing stories set in a girls high school.
Recently, in The Will ChaserI tried something new. I wrote the story including explicit scenes, but when I published, I gave readers the option of clicking on a "Scenes of a Sexual Nature" image at the appropriate point in the text to read the explicit scene, then clicking their back button to revert to the rest of the text. I tried to write it so that the story flowed reasonably well, even if you didn't read the explicit stuff.
Those two scenes each received around 20% of the hits for the main story, but you never know how many of those people clicking on the main story went on to read more than a few lines. Several comments approved of the idea.
Depends on the plot of the story
In this story a man is forced against his will to become the bride of a powerful man. All with the support of his entire family. Why?
His mother claims it's to help change his attitude towards women, but his "father" also signed the sale receipt. Why? Why would any father do this to his own son? It can't be to change an attitude the father himself has, so there must be something more.
The Duke may have provided the entire clue to the whys being asked. Thomas made a confession to his sister when they were young, that he wanted the body of a girl.
So if the family recognizes that their son is actually a girl, then what Thomas is being put through is a way of making him admit to himself a truth he's been hiding. And how is that done? By making him do exactly what he was forced to do in the first two chapters of this story.
Should the explicit scenes be revised, no, not if the reader is to understand why Thomas is developing an attitude of hate against all involved. Or finally comes to the realization it's all done not to force him into being a woman but to force him to admit to himself that he's actually a woman.
The plot of a story dictates how explicit parts of a story is written. If the explicit scenes help set the overall tone of the story then they should be included but with plenty of warnings about explicit scenes being present.
