My mother had a stroke yesterday morning, and between work and trying to deal with that, I have precious little time for the luxuries of life, like sleeping or formating stories to post. I'll get the next chapter posted when I can, but I don't have a clue when that will be.

Some of the best time
Some of the best time I had with my mother was taking care of her. She'd have done anything or dropped anything to be there for me.
Some parents give it all they've got and all they get in return is the pleasure of watching their kids grow, sometimes they actually come back and return some of the love. Its unfortunate you have to be brought together under these circumstances, I pray she has a fast and complete recovery.
Don't worry about us
we'll be here when things settle down for you. Just take care of the things you need to do now. I hope and pray for a quick and easy recovery for your mother, as well.

I hope for the best but knowing your mom is in her eighties, time is precious.
She may recover and live to 105 and tave the Smucker's Jam people hounding her on her birthday. She could be gone tomorrow. Love her while you can. All this has me on edge trying not to cry thinking of my late mother. Moms are the best, except maybe for cats but they won't bring you white soda and saltines when you have the flu.

Medical Update
My mother has been moved to the rehab facility, for the second time now. We got her moved on Friday afternoon, then she started experiencing respiratory difficulties and ended up back in ICU overnight. She was again cleared to be transferred Saturday afternoon and is in the rehab facility again, to start therapy to regain as much as she can. Her left side is still weak and slow to respond and she tires quickly, but the doctor is cautiously optimistic.
I mamnaged to squeeze in the two chapters of Reconciliation that I'd planned to post this week. PB took advantage of the late post to make some "minor" alterations. :-)

Good to hear your mom has improved considerably. Strokes are strange things, they may predict the near future -- a rapid decline and death -- or they may be a one off event and the person will recover to live many fruitful years after it. My mom's mom had a big stroke at 40 and my mother, then ten, remembered it took a full year for her mother to be back to normal. A heart attack at 60 slowed her a bit but she got better. Finally multiple strokes in her late seventies early 80s did granma Anna in.
I hope your mom is one of the tough ones that fights to get well. I bet that’s where you get your tenacity from. Thanks for posting under what can not be the easiest of times for you.
