For all those who have been following the story of Ren Nagata in Interview with a Lolita. It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all that I will not be continuing this story for a while. I have gone through 5 rewrites of the next chapter and none of them have the right feel. Sadly I must take a step back from the story for several reasons. The first of which is the sheer magnitude and complexity of the story. The twin story lines have become to great to keep separate. I know understand the challenge that Ann Rice faced with her book Interview with a Vampire. It was presumptuous of me to try and immolate her work. The second reason is a personal one. I refuse to force any story. I did that once and it cost me my health. As I wish to be around long enough to spoil my grandchildren and drive my daughters crazy, I will not endanger my health again. Besides, who’ll take care of my two cats, three dogs, and six horses if I’m gone? I will return to Interview with a Lolita once it no longer feels like work but is a joy to write. For now look for the next chapter in Racing Angles a new book in the Marshal series ‘A Thief’s Problem’.

Jess,

Don't beat yourself up over having to pause a story.

For purely selfish reasons I also would very much like to continue reading your work. It is with great impatience that I look forward to your next chapter posting.

You have paused other great stories. You have a number of stories that are awaiting new chapters. I look forward to getting it on with the Marshalls again. I wouldn't want Death's Own Daughter to feel like she is missing out either...

Your health, as with all my favourite writers, is paramount 'cos I want to continue reading your on-going work.

I hate that it's hurting you

I hate that it's hurting you so much, but I can see why you are struggling

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Not at all. If you never try to challenge yourself then you will never soar to new heights. Even if you never publish another chapter, I think Interview With A Lolita is a great story. I am glad I got to read it.

I consider Racing Angels to be another great story (hmm, that describes so many of your stories and books) and, my Goddess, another Marshal book? Awesome. Overall, I consider your post to be great news. Thank you.

C'est la vie

Sorry to hear this - very excited for both "Racing Angels" and "A Thief's Problem", though.

What about death dealer saga?

Anything you write,
