Looking for story and author recommendations

Forums:

Hi:)
New to this site and while i have found a few lovely stories and great authors so far i find it a little hard to search on this site. So here i am wondering if anyone can recommend some for me.

As for genre I'm not really all that picky, as long as it is transgender themed in some way and good. (i know good is relative but any recommendations is appreciated)

Not that i only read tg stories, and it's by no means a must but it's easy for me to relate to them.

And so far impressed by a couple of the authors i have managed to come across here. My favorites so far is Rebecca Jane, Dawn_Natelle and i enjoy Teddie's story about Tommy.
Even if it seems to go on forever and i can't really relate as much to the crossdressing theme, it is a well written story and pretty interesting in several ways. And it happens to be a great love story.

But searching for other great authors around here seems a little time consuming. So here i am, hoping anyone is willing to help me out a little.

If there is any author you think is particularly talented or if there is anything you think is particularly good, fun, emotional or just worth reading then i would love to know about it.

Hugs to everyone
And love from Elly

you probably wont like my

you probably wont like my stories... mostly because my muse doesnt exactly like to finish a lot of things.

Seems like some people disagree with you:D

And that is good enough for me, i have a feeling i probably will:)
If a story i like isn't complete yet i will just place a bookmark and keep an eye out. Can still be enjoyable even if it's never completed as well.

If you want real world stuff

You could always look up some of mine. Mostly in novel size, with a few shorter works. Most of them are tied together.

I do like real world stuff!

And i will do just that.
May take some time but i will check out everything in this tread! For sure:D
And that they are tied together intrigues me a little, so maybe sooner rather than later.

i would recommend

Anything by tiffanyshar as her story's are good and entertain, but there are typically some rough spots in the stories. However they do make the story grow and typically help in the long run of the plot.

like to add

2 who have pass away 1 bob Arnold 2 Stanman's.

I am very sorry to hear that:(

But their work lives on and it looks like there is a lot of stories between them.
Thank you for adding them to my to my tread.

My condolences

Life is too fragile, never knew her but i have lost people and i feel the pain of those who did.
It's never easy.

Thank you for adding it to my tread, i feel like it is important to spread the legacy of those who has left us.

Thanks for the tip

Will do that:)
Still hope this tread continues!

So far i have only managed to read 3 of the recommendations i got here but all of them were great! Still got a lot to go through but i will take a look at the contests as well.

my own method to find great stories

dawnfyre's picture

I clicked on the Authors link in the navigation at the top of the page and started reading stories from each author in the list.
You wouldn't be disappointed with that method, and only miss those stories not linked to an author.

Stupidity is a capital offense. A summary not indictable.

I'll add this...

Consider the Saga of Tuck http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/ by Ellen Hayes. This story probably will never be completed, unless Ellen decides that Tuck must die. Then again Ellen may no longer be available to complete the story.
This story was the first that I read in the genre of TG fiction and probably got me hooked on it way back when the net still had message boards... I still occasionally (about every 18 months) reread what there is of Tuck. It is a long sad story, I hope you like it though.

Thank you for contributing

Some of the best transgender themed books and stories i have read are incredibly sad, can be hard to get through the pages but i feel like those stories are a lot of the time the most important ones.
Have to have breaks inbetween such stories with some happy ones as they can be very emotionally draining but i will definitely check that one out, even if it's never completed.

A few suggestions ...

There’s BIG lists of great authors and great stories – but a few authors and stories not yet mentioned and which, for me, hit the Mega-Kudos button. All these are prolific writers and, obviously, some stories will hit each reader better than another.

 Angela Rasch example Baseball Annie; Many excellent tales (several now as books eg Peaches)

Angharad’s non-Bike stories too

Cyclist example A Place By The Sea; The multi-chapter stories can have bleak and dark sections.

Jennifer Brock example Ginger and Mr. Fogey

Maeryn example You Meant it for Evil

Nick B example The Cliffside Heroine

Paula Dillon example Drawn Together

I won’t relist some of the other suggestions even if some won’t be re-read by me.

As personal notes, I am less enthusiastic at incomplete stories (ie no new additions after more than say 2 years) and at stories where the heroine is ‘better than any other girl’. I also do prefer a multi-part series to have some sort of synopsis in the first chapter to hook me in and even sometimes a character-list.
Enjoy
Alys P. (sorry couldn't remember how to put story-suggestions as links

Maeryn Lamont

Of course. Always something interesting and engaging.

Has anyone mentioned Penny Lane yet?

Not sure Cyclist

Starting to get so many now:D
But i dont think so, and even if someone have it doesnt hurt to mention something twice!

I'm looking for a story --- I think it's called Castaways

It's been several years since I read it and I ran across a similar story. It made me want to check it out again. If my memory is correct it is about a teenage boy whose family was killed buy something called a castaway. He manages to kill that castaway and ends up with a team from something called heavens shard academy I believe. Something happened to him and he was transformed into a girl. And the girl is out for vengeance against The castaways. Please let me know if you know where this story is located or what its proper name is. Thank you so much.
