Looking for story and author recommendations

Hi:)
New to this site and while i have found a few lovely stories and great authors so far i find it a little hard to search on this site. So here i am wondering if anyone can recommend some for me.

As for genre I'm not really all that picky, as long as it is transgender themed in some way and good. (i know good is relative but any recommendations is appreciated)

Not that i only read tg stories, and it's by no means a must but it's easy for me to relate to them.

And so far impressed by a couple of the authors i have managed to come across here. My favorites so far is Rebecca Jane, Dawn_Natelle and i enjoy Teddie's story about Tommy.
Even if it seems to go on forever and i can't really relate as much to the crossdressing theme, it is a well written story and pretty interesting in several ways. And it happens to be a great love story.

But searching for other great authors around here seems a little time consuming. So here i am, hoping anyone is willing to help me out a little.

If there is any author you think is particularly talented or if there is anything you think is particularly good, fun, emotional or just worth reading then i would love to know about it.

Although I prefer longer stories and series most of the time i will definitely check yours out, a short story is nice inbetween sometimes.

I also seem to have issues with starting projects and waffling on completing them..but I’m working on it.

Good choice

Breaking them into parts is definitely the way to go, can be a little annoying if a large story is a single piece. Not a huge deal but no way to place a bookmark that way.

And things take time, you seem to be doing well as far as i can tell:)

Are you OK with action and

Are you OK with action and suspense or just simple drama with happy endings?

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Pretty much ok with anything, tend to say good is good

I do like and prefer happy endings but it's not a must. As for action and suspense, as long as it isn't constant action without much real content i can absolutely enjoy that genre. I'm kind of all eating when it comes to good stories.

Anything by Jessie Wolf,

Anything by Jessie Wolf, Shiraz, and Snowfall are good reads. The action is like an action movie, but not gratuitous. Some of Snowfall's violence is tough to read, particularly in the early "Lyssa Kordonay Missions" and her current "The Puppeteer" stories but they are done with you cheering instead of cringing.

Jessie's "Justice" saga overlaps Snowfall's "Lyssa Kordonay Missions" and "Chrysalis Project" but her other three series and saga, "Death Dealers", "Racing Angels", and "Interview With a Lolita" are standalones with "Death Dealers" being a series of books that are available on Amazon with the two most recent ones "Dreams of Dancing in the Sky" and "Flight of the Claymore" being available here still.

Shiraz is great with dialog and has mastered the art of long, interlocking plots that she is still unravelling four years later.

I'd offer my own stories as recommendations, but mine are nowhere near the top quality as those three authors' stories. Other people will offer you their favorites but I had to give respect to those three ladies for their stories.

ef is vastly underplaying, please read ef's series. It's fantastic! Start with Someone Who Cares(Book 1). You're more than welcome to look in my Bookmarks for reading suggestions.

I'll definitely agree with Ef's recommendations, but like Alicia said Ef is seriously underplaying their writing. I've read most of it and would highly recommend as well. I just started reading Snowfall's works a few weeks ago and started with The Stations Late Night Princess that's on Amazon... Needless to say I'm hooked on her works as well. lol

I looked at your author page Snowfall, and realized i have read a few of your books already. It's been a while but i particularly enjoyed The Station's Late Nite Princess.

To me the story element matters more than the pure quality of the writing, to a certain extent at least. Still quality is always nice!

Started writing myself, always wanted to but never managed to get past the first page until fairly recently.
My grammar is pretty terrible, and barely started but it's work in progress. Figure there is only one real way of getting better and that is to keep writing. Being norwegian and writing in english makes it a little harder for me but gradually improving, or at least i like to think so:P

Though none of my own stories are completed yet, my first one feels like a never ending project and i have gotten a bit tired of it after around 100 pages. My second one started out pretty dark and is harder to write but i feel like it has more potential.

Can't brag about quality but it's fun to create my own stories.
Will probably post something in time, if i ever manage to complete something.

I just read through your(efin's) 'Someone Who Cares- the complete story' and i'm still crying after the end of the first book. Good tears though:)

An impressive story about struggle, friendship, family and love.
It was just beautilful and I'm starting on book 2 right away!

You are definitely a talented writer in your own right:)

I'm so glad that you've enjoyed my writing so far. I'm still a bit new and learning. Hopefully I'm getting better though. Other than the other authors you mentioned, who I agree write some amazing stories, here are the stories and authors that stick out in my mind the most. I tried to hyperlink most of them to help out.

One of my favorite stories is A Blank Page by Flummox. It's an incredibly sweet story, and moved me to tears many times. Some heart wrenching but most were heartwarming tears.

Maiden By Decree by Maggie Finson. It's a bit of a fantasy story, but its an incredibly fun read.

One of my favorite authors is Bailey Summers Just about anything of hers is definitely worth a look. She doesn't shy away from what transpeople face in real life though, so some of her stories are kind of upsetting in places. That makes them feel so much more real to me when reading. Although my favorite of hers is Sixteen Feet of Steel It's another fantasy story. I'll admit when I was a kid my two favorite authors were CS Lewis and Tolkein so fantasy has always had a special place in my heart.

Another great story that's also fantasy with a bit of sci fi thrown in is Penny Lane's Somewhere Else Entirely It encompasses multiple books and is an extremely long, but worthwhile read.

Some other authors who are on my must click when I see a new story list are, Kat Walker, Morpheus, and Casey Brooks.

I think that's enough for now... Trying to write, and deal with my daily responsibilities, leaves my time to read kind of limited... There are so many incredible authors here, and I've barely made a scratch in finding them.

Don't sell yourself short, i can't get enough of your stories! Really excited for the next chapters of Better Than The Alternative, couldn't lay it down for a minute!

Robbie's Revelation is strong, hard at times, real, and just lovely at the same time. And the ending was beautiful.

Not to mention your little piece about The Petulant Muse, probably the cutest little short story i have ever come across:)

Will read the rest of your work very soon! And i have no doubt it's great stuff.

The Guardians... It was my first attempt at a fantasy/supernatural type story and I got the pacing all wrong and wrote myself into a corner after 4 chapters... It's slated for an overhaul/rewrite when I get the time and the muse cooperates. Also Defining Moments is autobiographical and its not a fun read and I've had to distance myself from it for a bit, I dug up too many memories too quickly so... Yeah its on hiatus...

Reconnecting the Past and the Present isn't quite finished, but its currently stopped at a good place to read though.

Enjoy the recommendations that everyones given you, so far they've all been top notch.

Reconnecting the Past and the Present is the only other story of yours i haven't read yet, but i plan to!

Did read Defining Moments and while it was pretty rough reading i think It is a strong piece, and i think it can help others.
Still fully understand if you never complete it. And i won't say too much regarding it, but i thank you for sharing.

Some recommendations

Some of my recommendations are: most things by Morpheus, particularly A Piece in the Game of Gods and Kombat Champion, Penny Lane's Somewhere Else Entirely stories, Cassy Bee's Natural Affection, Rebecca Jane's "The Petulant Muse", and Erin Halfelven's "An Irish Tale". The last two are not tg, but are very funny.

Morpheus's Imp stories are superb, but they are Whateley stories, based on an intricate shared universe, and are not the place to start reading Whateley stories. (The Whateley site is http://whateleyacademy.net/)

One piece of advice: If you see a long serial and are interested, take a look at the end of the last entry. If the last three words are "To be continued" and the posting is several years old, try something else.

And funny is good, doesn't have to be tg to be worth reading even if i prefer that most of the time.

As for incomplete series, sometimes it's good enough to be worth reading even if it will never be complete.
A couple of my favorite amature stories is like that, i don't regret reading those.
But I agree it can be pretty annoying, still been active a lot on other sites so i'm fairly used to it.

Not always.

"Catwalk Confidence" for example, while technically unfinished stopped at a reasonable point.
The author also wrote "While my guitar gently weeps" which is a stand alone.

Bailey Summers and Bronwen Welsh are another pair of excellent authors with Bailey's Jem one of my favourites. We can't forget Maddy Bell and Angharad for their monster sagas. They will keeep you reading for weeks.

This tread will probably keep me going for a several months or more at the rate this is going but it's nice to have a good library of sorts, and maybe it can help other people as well:)

Stories to read

I have few you might be interested. My writing isn't up there with some of the authors that have been mention, however they are good stories. If anything I would recommend Sirens or Abandoned Child first.

Then, if you want some Adveture style Start with never pull on the tail of a wolf.
School life and Nora Midnight are good ones as well. Snow Angel has some interesting characters as well.

WildFire is a nice one as well.

I've posted two stories here that have gotten good response, Mystic Godfather and Small Town Boy. Both of them are TG tales, the first a little more fictional while the second is based in reality. Neither is novel length at about 20,000 and 60,000 words apiece.

I hope you find something you like. There are lots of great stories here.

I got no doubt about it, i don't know why i waited so long with this site.
May be a bit harder to search here than I'm used to. But just from this tread i can tell that the community is a lot better and not to mention a lot more active than I'm used to as well.

And that is a respectable length, long enough to make a decent story and short enough so it won't take forever to read through.
I like a long story, if the writer can keep up it's progression. But that is far from always the case, in those cases i wish the writer would know when to stop.

But i'm not really one to speak about it, my first story just seems to go on and on with no end in sight and it got a little boring. Still want to complete it somehow but i got no idea how at the moment, so i started on a new one instead.
I seem to read too much lately to get much work done on either though:P

A Few More of Note

Just re-read Sarah Lynn Morgan's Samantha -- one of my longtime favorites -- and 12-part The Unicorn's Gift, also outstanding, last night. And many here named her multi-part Emily in a Best-of-BigCloset discussion five or six years ago when she was still active.

Don't believe anyone has mentioned Casey Brooke: top-quality longer stories, mostly in the fantasy and space opera genres. Ones I'vs re-read relatively recently include The Fae, The Cauldron and The Curse of O'Braonain's Gold.

A story I like to spotlight here -- it gets overlooked a lot, possibly because the author was one-and-done -- is Thliwent's 10-part Going There and Back Again, a clever time-travel story.

DarkKitten and Zoe Taylor wrote a delightful series -- Magic of the Kingdom, two ten-part serials -- taking place at and around Disney World in Florida. There's a reason that Zoe's called Queen of Sweetness around here, as this series and their other serials demonstrate.

There are a few books after "Unreachable" that continue that story. They are just as good as the 1st one.

Also Daring Diane has the Lee Corcoran series. Starts with Boy for the Cheer if I'm not mistaken.

BarbieLee's "The Huntress" is a must read and her Warrior pincess and other stories are as good and have TG-Heroines. As for the rest Casey Brooke cannot be mentioned enough here and I certainly second mentioning Angela Rasch, Wolfjess and Teddie. I also recommend to always look at the recent comment section and the random solos, lots of treasures to be found that way :-)
