To all who kindly read my stories and might wonder why they haven't seen a chapter about Harriet's adventures in a while - I fell over (sober I must add) and broke my arm - my first ever fracture. I can still type but the arm aches if I do too much. It's my prefered (left) arm. I've found that showering is especially difficult and I'm a very bad car passenger - there's a dent in the floor where I keep pressing an imaginary brake! If my marriage survives this it will survive anything.

I concur regarding both parts.
An acquantaince of mine long ago in India rode in a taxi that someone like Bron must have used before. He could see the ground through a hole in the floor. That wasn't too bad. He got a bit more worried when a wheel passed by and he realized it was one of the taxi's.

Ironically, sprains while not as synonymous as being as painful is actually harder to heal. It took me two months to heal a sprained left ankle.
Not too bad as it is the left ankle? Well, I drive a standard transmission.

Hang in there, The worst is yet to come. That is the itching you will get under the cast when the bones are knitting back together and the whole area starts itching and you can't scratch it or get to it easily. Prayers of healing coming your way. :-)

The only bones I've broken as an adult is ribs - once falling off my motor cycle and the other falling off a diving board! They're really painful when you laugh so I guess in that respect a broken arm is better. Just keep a knitting needle handy for scratching under the plaster and remember to take more water with it (I'm not convinced about the 'sober' claim).
I used to work with someone who only had one hand. He had a special attachment that clipped his arm to the steering wheel of his car via a ball joint so you should be able to drive, Bronwen. It'll save you stamping hole through the foot-well of your car :)
Anyway, take your time. Harriet can wait.
