I've watched two episodes and will watch the third tonight.
It's quite realistic, but must be staged to a certain degree.

Staged...
Any less staged than "I Am Jazz" where a lot of the drama was added for the show and storytelling or is it more of a careful editing to remove the fluff and boring moments?
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
I don't think they can hide the cameras
Like at the friend's house for the girl's night out, or at the bar. So yeah, certainly some staging, but I do think the relationship issues are real. At least they come across realistically.

I can identify with the "try living the way people expect you to for years instead of who you really are it f.....g sucks!" The TS who works in the gun shop must be brave or insane! cant wait to catch up with episode two.
