I have just published a short novella (97 pages) as an ebook using the Kindle publishing program. It is not a transgender story, although I wrote it as the first-person narrative of a female. It's called, Missing Without a Trace: A Kelly Mitchell Mystery.
Kelly Mitchell is a young woman pilot, in her mid-twenties, who runs her own air charter company. Sheriff Hank Wallace, whom Kelly has known since she was a child, hires her to fly him to the Poverty Island Research Station. Poverty Island is a small, rocky, forest-covered island located at the northern end of a landlocked freshwater lake, accessible only by air. There has been some sort of accident there and the men manning the station were able to make a single distress call before going off the air. Kelly and the sheriff find the station deserted and the men missing. It is up to Kelly and the sheriff to discover what happened to the men and unravel what happened to cause their disappearance and to, hopefully, find the missing men.
The price of the book is $1.99 but if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read it for free.

Similar Issue
Another author had this same issue recently. They persisted with Amazon and went through all the hoops. Amazon eventually said it was an error and reinstated their account.
It is entirely possible because of the content of some stories, and the subject matter, someone is trying to mount a strike on some authors and get their books taken down. Other than these initial automated responses, Amazon's system and/or personel seems to be able to properly sort things out once they have been made aware of it.
PLEASE keep with it, and keep with Amazon, and you will hopefully prevail.
Also, please keep us updated.

I think the trigger
may be excessive returns. Part of the problem is a lot of people who don't have KU but read fast can finish a 97 page book in a day and return it. Eventually Amazon catches on to them but until then they create problems for authors.
If the number of purchases versus returns exceeds a certain percentage I think Amazon gets ticked because they lose income too.

I just heard back from Kindle
I just heard back from Kindle Direct Publishing. They need more time to research my request for a list detailing the specific violations that I, my book, and my account are accused of.
They said they would get back to me in five days.
