Trying!
I'm using the process Piper lined out for me in hopes I can avoid waking her up.
Fingers crossed!
Looks like it is working. If
Looks like it is working. If you get the purple background on a page, try Ctrl-F5. Or I think refreshing your local cache should work as well.
I've tried all of that and no
I've tried all of that and no joy. Still purple.
Sometiomes that doesn't work
The purple page is coming from the server. Clearing the browser cache and refreshing works only if the server has corrected its problem. If it's still serving the purple page, we will keep getting it.
Slow connection
I usually only get the "purple screen" when my Internet link is saturated.
So I just wait 10-20 minutes before refreshing with F5.
I too have been receiving a purple screen
It seems to be a problem of net saturation when there is an overload on the transmission tower competing for bandwidth. For me the wait is around ten minutes to refresh the page and it usually behaves on the second request. At first I kept trying to reload and kept getting the same unreadable screen.

Okay, I'm a slow learner but I did learn how to combat that purple screen and all it takes is patience.

I have the patience of Job
I have the patience of Job when it comes to computers. I waited an hour and actually closed and reopened the browser before I posted my blog entry. at least now it appears to be working fine.
