Well todays Gaby is something I know a few of you will enjoy, Drea's First Christmas gives a little insight into the world of Bernie back in Warsop.

In other news.....

I've now got 6 Gaby chapters completed, I'm planning on releasing the next ten chapter segment on Sunday - fingers crossed. I'll then get on with Nena to have that complete story ready to put out on Kindle etc by the end of October.

I seem to be making progress with my riding, well in between getting blown away and drowned that is! The one more clement day I barely got warmed up before a mechanical halted the ride and I had to be rescued from the Derbyshire countryside! Grrrr!

After a very long wait, they first proposed opening in Sheffield being best part of twenty years ago, we now have an Ikea in Sheffield! now I know that might not sound that exciting to many of you but previously the nearest stores were an hour north or south of here by car, now I'm maybe 30 minutes by bike perhaps a little more by bus and tram. So finally its reasonable for me to shop there, pop down when I want Daim bars or meatballs or even - heaven forbid, a new bed (mine is in a parlous state, dating as it does from @ 1970!) Add in the excellent restaurant and I'm in heaven!

Guess I need to sell a few books now so I can afford said luxuries!

Anyhow, look out for the new stuff on Kindle on Sunday and in the meantime enjoy todays chapter.

getting a bed back from Ikea of the back of a bike is quite mind boggling especially as Mads lives close to the top of a hill and I'm betting that the Ikea store is down in a valley bottom.

I think having an IKEA store closer to home is well worth getting excited about.

And the idea that I can buy the next Gaby book in a couple of weeks is so worth getting excited about. Yay!

The IKEA store ...

... that is quite near 'Wassop' is the one near Nottingham which is on the site of the repression of the last armed rebellion in England 200 years ago. The Pentrich Rebellion started out in Derbyshire near the Nottinghamshire border and marched towards Nottingham calling in at a few pubs on the way. Unfortunately it was encouraged by agents provocateur and the red coats were waiting for them at Giltbrook about 6 miles west of the city. The ring leaders were either executed or transported.

I lived and was brought up quite close to the site and still don't live too far away after a few travels in between time. It's always good to read stories that take place in an area I've known all my life - especially if they involve cycling. Sadly, my cycling is much reduced these days and is now even electrically assisted now I've modified my bike.
