Today was the first day of my new job. I recently accepted a position as Director of Transportation for Belk Stores, which those of you who live in the Southeast US may recognize. I spent about half of my day in orientation, completing paperwork, and meeting people. The other half I spent discussing the position and the direction they are looking to go. I sincerely love my boss! He has basically given me Carte Blanche to do what I want as long as I get them their numbers.

The truly wonderful thing about this position is that my employer has known about my transgender status from day one, and still hired me. Today I was treated with decency and respect, and not once was I misgendered.

I think I have found a wonderful home!

congrats Dallas. Now all you have left, is making the job your own. And maybe going out to Burning Man sometime, I think it would do you some good.

Went some years back, but I wouldn't mind going again. Although I am getting back into jazz more now.

Congrats

I take it you are taking over for Kevin who is leaving ?

Are you prepared to be somewhat on the public stage given it being a kinda higher profile position?

Yes, and yes.

Yes, Kevin is leaving and the entire department is being revamped with half of the positions being moved to Blythewood, SC, rather than Charlotte. I will be responsible for all transportation operations, wherever they may be - not something that much of the staff wanted to be part of. Disrupting your life and dragging your family to a new home doesn't work for many people; an entirely understandable stance.

As to being public, I have been very public for quite some time. This will be no different as far as that goes.

Congratulations indeed on

Congratulations indeed on your new job with Belk.
I was introduced to Belk when I moved to Kentucky from WA State. a VERY nice system of stores and I have always found all those working within them very friendly, helpful and proud of their store and employer. Hope you have a great career with them.

As I stand and applaud,

I wish you nothing but the very best in your new job. Excel, and you will bring credit to yourself and more understanding of TG folks as a whole. Nothing more to say, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
