Sorry there was no Gaby Wednesday, I'm pretty much housebound atm and today is my first chance to get online and out this week.
Being ill sucks - being incapacitated when you've otherwise got a 100% clean bill of health sucks even more but them's the numbers on the dice!
So without further ado here is Chapter 30 of Book 14.
I may get on line Sunday but don't be alarmed if not.

Are you managing those stairs ok?
I hope so otherwise getting out and about won't be easy.
Maddy lives on the 2nd Floor (3rd Floor to the US Colonials :) ) and there is no lift.

Other than my octogenarian parents!
Managed to restock a bit after today's hospital visit - my needs are few after all!
I can just about manage the stairs but what do I do then? The 400m to the nearest fast food, shops and beer off might be flat but realistically I'm only going to do that if I get desperate!
Hoping to see improvement by Easter but to give folks an idea of what I'm up against, the main clot causing the issue is blocking @ 20cm of the main vein from my knee and up my thigh.
Getting good care but it's going to take time.

Do you have a DVT?
Do you have a DVT (deep vein thrombosis)? I had one behind my right knee a few years ago, and a major part of the therapy was warfarin to reduce clotting. Your clot sounds larger than mine was, so it could be something else. But extended bed rest increases the risk for a DVT. I had none of the usual risk factors, so the clot wasn't diagnosed for a few days, even though there is a simple blood test for it.
Anyway, get well soon. Yorkshire will be missing a bicycle rider!

Not strictly a DVT but the effect is pretty much the same - so far we've not been able to identify a cause.
I'm on Rivoroxaban - does same thing as Warfarin but is safer and has a quicker reverse in case of need. I'm allowed to walk (hah!) but keeping the leg elevated is the main advice. We'll see I next hospital appointment is Easter, hopefully there will be some improvement by then, less pain at least!

Both my parents and one of my spouse's parents had DVT in their legs and the leg elevation was a major contributor to their recovery along with an anticoagulant. They all recovered well after treatment but it is a slow recovery process. I wish you well during and after your recovery.
Edit: I assume they gave you the standard warnings about the risks of falling or other injury when on anticoagulants.

But the AC i'm on is fairly new and easier and quicker to reverse. Not that I usually make a habit of injuring myself!
