I'm trying to find a story which I read some time ago. I believe it was titled My Father's Working Vacation, or something along those lines. I have not been able to find it for some time and was looking forward to reading it once again.
In the story, the main character's family travels to an island in the Pacific Northwest as his father's employer requires all of the management employees to take part in what is basically a large team building trip, which includes their families as well. The main character, a high school aged boy, is an only child and tries but fails to get out of the trip. The means of his attempt to get out of the trip is to transform himself into a goth with the help of a girl he knows from school - the attempt not only fails, but results in everyone at the retreat thinking he is a girl. On top of that, he is afraid of the water due to a near drowning event in his childhood, which makes being on an island an issue in the story.
Does anyone know the story, and can anyone locate it?

I quite liked that story myself (the author's name was Zoulless,) but the author/ess up and deleted all of their work. You can probably nab it via wayback machine (that's what I did last time I re-read it,) but it's officially gone the way of the dodo.
Some day I intend to write a story with the same theme as a personal "replacement" for it, but that's some ways away.
