I was surprised to see a pretty large ad for Liberty University on BC today. As far as I know, Liberty University is an ultra conservative religious place that I can't imagine being LGBT friendly. On the other hand, I'm happy to see their money supporting this site.

We have two ad agencies selling ads on BC. One is ProjectWonderful, the other is Google via Amazon (Amazon sells ad space on our site through that they aren't using via Google or PW).
I haven't seen the ad in question but I doubt they are getting their money's worth here. :)

The Ads provided by Amazon are linked to certain words you may have recently read. There's an algorithm at work and often it throws out strange (to you) ads but which make perfect sense to the computer program based on what you have been reading.

The University
Liberty University was originally Jerry Falwell's college, and it was originally Liberty Baptist College. As befits its name, it allowed seniors to drive, prohibited dancing, movies, and involvement in the counterculture. At one point, they proclaimed one goal of their science curriculum as establishing creationism as valid science.
