So, I ordered some books from Lulu, one of which was 'Headlights Girl'. I got the order yesterday, and everything was fine except for Cathy's book. The cover looked great, but when I opened the book the title page read, 'Baseball Pitchers: The Most Overrated and Underrated in the Last 20 Years' by KP Wee. Flipping through the pages revealed that it was more than just the title page, the entire book was wrong except for the cover. So I went to Lulu and filled out the form to report a problem, including this in the comments:

The copy of 'Headlights Girl' I received is incorrect. The cover is for 'Headlights Girl', but the interior is a book entitled 'Baseball Pitchers: The Most Overrated and Underrated in the Last 20 Years' by KP Wee.

I just got this reply:

Good Day!

I am sorry that your order did not arrive as you would have expected. Is it possible for you to send us a digital image of the problem? With the image we would be able to determine where the problem is and be able to correct this more efficiently.

I thought my description of the problem was pretty clear; they printed the right cover but the wrong book. I don't know how sending them a digital image will clear up the problem. I can't very well show them the cover and the interior at the same time without tearing the cover off the book. Has anyone else encountered a problem like this?

That's their fancy way of saying...

"Prove it, Bucky, and we'll fix it!"

Take two pix, then put them in one image and send the resulting image to them. Offer to send the Baseball book back -- at their expense.

"This is the problem I described: [image]

I would be more than happy to return to you the Baseball pitchers book I received instead of the book I wanted, if you'll only supply the return label."

PS check your email!

I wonder...

Did someone order the Baseball book and get Headlight Girls? Did he/she read it?

Title Page

Scott,

Just scan/photograph the title page. As you didn't order that book, they should be able to grasp the problem.

I sent the images and got a reply back within an hour. They're sending me a new copy of Headlights Girl without the need to return the faulty copy.

Chico Vasquala?

Or whatever Garret Morris's character was on SNL.

Angela, you are showing your age with that ... Gods, I just proved how old I am by getting that joke. Arrrrrrrr!

Obscure references to early SNL makes me feel young. When I show my age I quote Sid Caesar, Milton Berle, or Imogene Coco.

CRASH. :-)

I've been introducing my kids to TV of the 60s, much to their appreciation. Gilligan's Island, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., etc...

Funny, they say "how come TV isn't that good any more?" or "why aren't showes like that any more?"...

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes

That same thought has been going through my head every time we play another episode from the "Danger Man (Secret Agent)" collection I bought a few months ago. I'm glad that someone without a nostalgic interest in the era is thinking the same thing.

Hang onto the bad one

Maybe someday it will be as rare and valuable as the old airmail stamp with the Jenny printed upside down.
