I cannot get the book outline to work properly. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, can someone give a clear tutorial?

What I've done so far is made a parent page with the title of the book and a teaser. Then clicked . Then I went to Chapter 01 and tried to add it to the outline, parent item "Purgatory: ReLife" but it was showing up twice. I figured it wasn't a big deal, but when I added Chapter 02 its not letting me click from title page to Chapter 01 to Chapter 02. It will only let me go from title to 01 or from chapter 02 to 01. It doesn't even show the option at the bottom of the story page.

Can someone please give easy to follow directions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just had a look at how you have it setup

When doing series pages all chapters are parented to a single page, usually a story summery page like the one that you set up, the story's are automatically sorted by Alphabetical order after that.
If one page appears to be out of order you can adjust it by bumping the number in the outline part up a digit.
So as long as both chapter 1 and chapter two are Parented to the Teaser page then they should follow along as they currently appear to be?

I'm not sure how you managed to make chapter 1 show up twice
Have you tried going to outline, removing chapter 1 from the book outline, then refreshing the page and adding it back to the book outline if both posts disappear?
If the system is treating it as two separate posts, maybe it just needs the old 'turn it off and on again treatment' lol

Make one over all with only your name

title it something like Aurum's stories. Then make a book for each of your stories titled with that story's name and add those books to your main one. Then add each of your stories to the book you made for that story.

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

When you Choose Outline

Choose your name as the top level, then the book title page as second in hierarchy. I created your author page and lined up your book title page under it along with your Book title page of Synergy. You temporarily have a ghost image of Chapter 1 because of our dual front end caching problem. It will be fixed soon.

Just make sure when you post something do not reclick it if you do not see it right away. What happens sometimes is when you click save you are looking at the other front end cache and it may not show your post until they synch. so reload the home page a couple of times until you see it.

Interested to see how this works out

I've been working on a group of stories that I just recently realized all go together. I've published two chapters so far, but if I get them all finished, there will be 8 or more chapters. The issue is complicated because I have various parts of it already written but not published. At some point, it makes sense to have them all bundled together in a menu.

So, far I have been tying them together with statements at the end and beginning that reveal which story precedes it. There are reasons that I am not any more organized than this. I just hope that I get it all written.

Don't need a title page

I've recently noticed that many authors use Part 1 of their serial as the parent level for all the others. This makes it a one-click operation for readers finding Part n of a serial to navigate to Part 1. Using a separate title page, as I have been doing until now, means you navigate to the title page and then scroll down the screen to find and click on the link to Part 1, which is more fiddly.

I shall be using that method from now on.
