Well my lung function test this afternoon came back not so good.
a loss of 1 liter in capacity
and a loss of 4% airflow.
26% for my fev1 ( Forced Expressed Volume in 1 second )
33% fev1 after Ventolin
the only good news is my blood oxygen saturation level is 96%, only down 1% from 3 years ago.
with that last anything over 92% is considered good.

my lung diseases ( copd and asthma ) are not going to ease off, only maintain or deteriorate. This is the first time in 7 years there has been a deterioration.

Do what the doctors tell you.
I know people whom lose lung capacity. The doctors gave him a simple device to blow into to exercise the lungs. It takes time, but six weeks later he started to see results. A year later he did not need an oxygen machine to get around.
Should, the doctors give you that device, use it as the doctors direct. It is not a joke. You will likely see results. But, it will take time.
Also, shopping stores sell a little device that you put on your finger to check you pulse and O2 percentage in the blood. Buy that and use it to see what is going on. Also, an automatic blood pressure machine is a good idea. Lung problems can shoot up the blood pressure so quickly that this can cause a heart attack.
In addition, find someone to drive you around. Having an unstable O2 count can cause you to pass out at a moments notice. You do not want to drive in such a risk of a situation.

o2 count is stable
or as stable as sever copd lets it be.
a 1% drop over 5 years when I have stage 3 copd ( terminal stage ) is actually very minor. most stage 3 copd patients are on O2 with oxygen sat < 92% and spend 2 - 3 months a year in hospital.
I have not been in hospital at all for my copd, making me a unique patient.
