I watched series one
I was rooting for Leo and Judy; and it was funny enough with Judy's weird mom and sister, Leo's obnoxious idiot brother; but by episode 6, despite the trans theme and the trans actress I was starting to feel like it was just a sitcom, and to grow restless. As much as I love comedy I have a hard time with the sitcom format. For some reason there's very few sitcoms I can watch and not lose interest in. Maybe BOY MEETS GIRL is too earnest for me, trying to convince me of something I'm already sold on. So even though I'm quite happy it's on the air and that it's respectful of transpeople (the jokes for once being about everything but Judy's MtF status), I guess i'll have to wait for the transgender version of FAWLTY TOWERS or ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS... Here's hoping.
Well shit, I guess it really CAN happen here..,
.
Can't wait
I loved this series for exposing TGs as... normal people. The joke wasn't about being TG, but about the narrow minds of others. It showed the way that even the most bigoted can adapt, given the will.
Can't wait.
To quote 'My Fair Lady'
By Jove, I think she's got it!
I watched the first
few minutes of part one and found it so crass and cringeworthy I turned if off. Possibly I'm too picky, but I'd happily watch a programme where a transsexual woman lived a normal life with its ups and downs and comic moments and that her being transsexual wasn't the reason for the joke. It's why I write Bike.
