I just re-read the first part of a story called "Vitamins" by Christine Norman. It was only the first part of a muli-part story, but the location Old Joe's Collection only had the first part.
The collection is a ton of stories from the early internet days of Usenet and BBS sites. These are the stories I found when I was looking for TG stories 30+ years ago.

The unusual title suggests that this may be the book you are looking for. Karin first posted it on BigClooset but then published a Kindle edition on Amazon.

Same title, different story
Matter of fact I came across Karin's story as I was searching for the rest of the one I am looking for. Again the one I am looking for is old. I am fairly sure it is older than the date listed on the collection where I found the first part. From the 1990's or earlier.
