Last night, I tried to schedule the second part of Firefly: Connecting Flight to post automatically this morning. Naturally, it didn't work. It was supposed to post at 6 a.m. Eastern Time -- and it just isn't there. And I can't find where it's lurking so i can just go to it and post it immediately!
Can anyone help me find it and get it posted, stat?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

To the rescue!
I published it and promoted it to the front page for ya... though I don't know how to move it up the page right offhand...
I bumped it up the page Mom
It is now starting in position 2 on the front page. On the auto preset scheduling make sure you enter the time in the format shown and you get the year portion of the date right and the time right. There is a 5 minute leeway on the server scheduler so do not expect it to appear right away. And remember that the server time is on Pacific time so make sure the posting occurs on Pacific time to match what you want to do on Eastern time. It is easy to fix though.

Heh!
We almost crossed posting, I was doing it at the same time. :)

Thank you, Sephy! *hugs*
I may try this feature again, if I can figure out exactly where I went wrong. *smiles*
Love you, baby, so much!

Remember
to set the time to appear on Pacific time mom. For example. You want this story to appear published at 7 am eastern time tomorrow. Subtract 3 hours from 7 am to get 4 am. Then format the published time at 4 am in the format shown. Then it will appear within the 5 minute gap window at the appointed time. Server time is on Pacific Coast Time US.
I have no proof, but I believe you set this to post on Eastern US time and did not know to set it to appear on Pacific time to match the time you wanted for Eastern.

Thank you!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Can you tell me what went wrong? Why it didn't publish when it was supposed to? I'd love to make this a learning experience somehow. *grin*

I am so grateful for the ...
... comment alerting me to the Firefly chapters, as I had missed your posting of the first one. Actually I had probably noticed the heading but had not realised it was by you and, as I have never heard of Firefly, had ignored it. I have to confess an aversion to fan fiction and Universes. They just turn me off. It's quite irrational but is is something I have to live with.
Being an avid fan of your writing I was eager however to run counter to the prejudices of a life time and give it a go..... Only to find that the preamble specifically requires me not to!
As it may not come U.K. television and if I promise on something sacred, say a crate of Plymouth gin, never to go and see the film, could you make a special exception and lift the embargo dear Randa?
Or is it incomprehensible without such prior experience?
Damn but I wish you wouldn't do this.
Please advise/put me out of my misery. Perhaps the last is a bit drastic with its connotations of being put down .... but still ....
Hugs,

DVD
Seriously... you do NOT want to ruin this show. And in the two chapters so far posted are some MASSSSIVE spoilers! We're talking the Nagasaki of spoilers.
I know it is for sale in the UK, because friends of mine in Surrey have copies.
DVD of the complete series of Firefly, and DVD of the movie Serenity
Go ahead, dear ...
... read it if you'd like. I can't deny you anything, fleurie. *smile* I just didn't want to spoil Firefly and Serenity for you. The original series has run several times on British television, and both the series and the movie are available on DVD. The writing is superb, the characters deep and conflicted (except maybe Jayne), and the stories engaging to the point where this is the only complete television series I carry with my on my iPhone, for when I have some time to kill without a book handy.
If you want a primer on the Firefly/Serenity universe, I suggest the wikipedia page. If you have specific questions, PM me and I'll try to bring you up to date. It's a remarkable piece of work -- so much so that it prompted me to write this to move it forward.

Jayne not deep?!?
He's the Hero of Canton! The man they call... Jayne!
*ahem*
He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton,
The man they call Jayne!
Our Jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin'
He saw the mudders' lament
And he saw the magistrate takin'
Every dollar and leavin' five cent!
So he said, "You can't do that to my people,"
He said, "You can't crush them under your heel!"
So Jayne strapped on his hat
-- And in 5 seconds flat
Stole everythin' Boss Higgins had to steal!
He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton,
The man they call Jayne!
Now here is what separates heroes
From common folk like you and I
The man they call Jayne
He turned 'round his plane
And let that money hit sky!
He dropped it onto our houses...
He dropped it into our yards...
The man they called Jayne
He stole away our pain
And headed out for the stars!
He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton,
The man they call Jayne!
I... am... SUCH... a... GEEK!
I do have a Television Set ....
.... I nearly wrote TV but such a declaration may have given the more salaciously minded of the readers room for speculation .... It is a rather ugly box like article that stands in a corner sulking. It came with a small, hand held, appliance which, if only I knew what button to press, would, I am assured, open up a whole new world to me. One full of colour and excitement.
I haven't got an iPhone. Is this what the less technically advanced amongst us would refer to as a mobile 'phone? But it must be more than that if it can receive moving pictures surely? Not that it matters. Where I live such signals rarely if ever permeate. There are odd square yards where it is possible to receive some crackle ridden communication but such are wayward and difficult to find at best. Carrier pigeons are quicker and far more reliable and have the added advantage of providing much needed nourishment for local raptors.
So It is unlikely that either Firefly or Serenity will ever cross my path in the normal course of events. Unless I were to go to a cinema of course. But such an effort .... And I would have to find somewhere to park. And I can't lock my car so ....
So I will read your version. And if I ever do find myself engaged in idle conversation with someone who is about to embark on the experience I shall have the pleasure of ruining it for them by trailing your spoilers.
Hugs,
Fleurie
I tried it too
I tried to schedule something to post -- it was some time back, and when it didn't, I just posted it the regular way.
Maybe that feature isn't enabled?
It does work
But writing the date time correctly to get it to work isn't easy like it should be.
