That's not an IP address and it's not resolving to one on my end. That's a DNS address.

I linked to that article as it listed available ports, and an alternative working DNS. But here's the basic information you asked for:

It must be something with my client. I still couldn't find host even with the IP address, so I tried a ping on command console and even with the ellesmera.dragonaerie.de DNS address it pinged okay. I suppose I could try raw telnet... Or one of the web chats.

CyberBrats DNS
Try connecting to IRC.CyberBrats.Org on ports 6667 for standard IRC or 6697 for SSL enabled client (we use Self-Signed SSL certs so allow for that). That DNS is a round-robin DNS for Ellesmera2.de.eu.cyberbrats.org and Reba.TX.US.CyberBrats.Org
We also have the aliases EU.CyberBrats.ORg for when we add more EU centered servers and US.CyberBrats.Org for when we add more US based servers. We aren't using any real load balancing just basic Roundrobin DNS.
