Having spent most of my working life in what is now known as the IT industry, I am pretty familiar with the concept of logic.
What I am at a loss to understand is the logic behind the on-line petition that Caitlyn now has to return her Olympic medal.
Maybe all those so upset are worried that it might show that a woman beat men IN A MEN'S CLASSIFICATION
But seriously, why on Earth would there even be a thought that Caitlyn should return it?

Logic?
There is no logic in emotional situations like this. Maybe they're upset that "Bruce" voluntarily turned in his "man card" (being just a wee bit facetious here folks) and now want her to give back anything and everything that marked achievements in her "previous life".
Oh, it was BRUCE, a MAN that won the decathlon. The headspace might be female, but the physical body had all the advantages of XY genetics and all the male hormones.
(Yes, yes, I know that some of you think that XY means genetically crippled and that men are somehow "broken".)
Personal opinion here, that for some people a MTF transgendered person hits their "purple monkey" limit.
Banned
Had Bruce transitioned to Caitlyn prior to his Olympic career she'd have been banned from competition due to that XY thing. They do have testing for that you know.

Semper in femineo gerunt
Ich bin eine Mann
Which is another bit of illogical, really.
After all, there are women born with XY chromosomes and a vagina. They have NO testosterone. Their bodies reject it completely... So they're actually at a disadvantage even compared to other women.
Trans women post-op are basically hormonally equal to natal women.
So banning women with XY chromosomes from Olympic competition is just all sorts of illogical.

Utter nonsense, considering...
...that at least one East German athlete who competed as a woman later transitioned to male, thereby setting a precedent. There were no calls for him to return his medals. Granted, Jenner is much more high-profile, but the same reasoning still applies. The IOC only cares about one's physical sex, not mental, and they've already said Jenner doesn't have to return her medals, so the whole silly petition is moot anyway.

Why should she?
If it was won fairly, which I presume it was, then what's the problem? Perhaps it was for marrying into the Kardashians and their unreal reality TV show.
