Story about an old, past his prime cop whose mind is transferred into that of a developmentally disadvantaged girl. She breaks the controls put on her, takes down the evil guys, falls in love with a soon to be ex-gangster's daughter. Excellent author who subsequently posted another very good tale about an alternate universe and the sex change involved with going back and forth.

It all depends on the story line.
Mind transfer by itself, from my arrogant point of view, is a device for teenager writers who failed to investigate GRS and crossdressing. There are about dozen such stories on fm every week :-)
So, in my opinion, if there is a way to do it with, say, some alien bodyforming technology - use alien technology :-) it is more believable and less used by mainstream media.
On the other hand, there are very good stories involving mind transfer as one of the plot devices. I greatly enjoyed one obout old misantropic sound operator nicknamed Bear being transferred into the body of teenage singer who was assaulted but he took the lethal bullet if my memory serves em right. (does anyone remember the name of the author? I want to reread that story but could not find it. And it was posted here, if I remember correctly)

Not that Story
This story was posted here in the last year or two. The old ex-police officer voluntarily had his mind put into the girl's. There was some electronic enhancement including an eidetic memory, and greatly increased reaction time. She went back to high school, and became an outstanding athlete. She became an amazing basketball player. Retirement Benefits? That just hit me. I'll check it out.

I believe the author wants to publish the story. Like my stories, it needs proofing. If the author is interested, I will help. If not, nothing will be done. If you haven't read either of the stories, you might want to. They are very, very good.

Another story that kinda runs the same lines is Lipstick and bullets by Sara UK at least with what you describe. I really enjoyed her work and hate that it has been so long sense I have seen anything from her. Also if I had the means and if she were doing it I would buy some of the stories through my Kindle but so far I haven't seen it from her.
