You never know where a a rumor started, fact or fiction, they're all the same to a rumor.
However, Hope was correct, there was a little birdy spreading a rumor that the next chapter of Hills was about to go up, much to the delight of many of our wonderful friends. I've also heard a very wild and crazy rumor that the next 2 chapters are ready to go out for proof reading. Now remember that's just a rumor.
I guess this is as good a place as any, I need a little help. In a few chapters Matilda will be going to Edinburgh, Scotland. Not to offend anyone, but I've heard they don't exactly use the King's English up there. What I need will be someone that I can run some dialogue through so it will be written as it would sound in Scotland.
I have another question, does anyone know how to get in touch with Crystal Sprite, the author of Texas Gal? I kind of became obsessed with her story a while back and I've written 4 chapters, (I know, silly me). If Crystal is still around I'd like to send her what I have for review and consideration. I could post them as fanfic, but I believe that in this case, having her permission would be better than forgiveness.

The Edinburgh Accent/dialogue
Many of the inhabitants of 'old reekie' speak with a fairly soft accect. It is certainly mild when compared to that of the east end of Glasgow. That said, there is at least one distinct accent in Edinburgh and that is the one spoke by people from Morningside. The other one that I can identify is from the Leith area.
Morningside is Posh
Leith is very, very working class.
It is just Edinburgh by the way. There is no need to add ', Scotland'. :)
just like London. etc. (just a personal peeve of mine)

Sorry - when people say London to me, I _do_ want to know if it's Ontario, or England.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
ABSOLUTELY - Where I live....
If someone says, "I'm going to Miami for a vacation." a LOT of people actually ask, "The one in Florida?" That is, because, as strange as it might sound, there is a little town here in Manitoba named, Miami. (Never been there myself - neither Miami.)

Reflex
For anybody born in the North American colonies, or former colonies, adding the country after the city name is a kind of reflex they probably don't even realise they are doing. That is because they re-used so many of the city and town names in different states it is important to be specific.
This has progressed to the point that they do the same wherever the city is in the world, and that probably makes sense to them, but can irritate the rest of us - or we just find it an amusing regional quirk.
I mean, who hasn't watched a film (movie) where the subtitle comes up: "Paris, France"? Since the first shot is usually that of the Eiffel Tower I would have thought it would be bleeding obvious which Paris was meant. Similarly of London, Edinburgh or most other big cities around the world - anywhere but North America, in fact.

My apologies if in my ignorance I’ve offended, and I thank you for the education when referring to major cities around the world. It’s not much, but in my defense there is an Edinburgh Indiana, about 20 miles south of Indianapolis.
However, back to the original question, once I have that chapter or two written who will be able to assist with the dialogue? I would like to have two or three kind individuals to assist. Most of the time the accents will be a mild, but there will be one or two characters with a heavy accent when angry (such as when Matilda hacks into their secure network).
