heel height
with the exception of my athletic shoes(trainers for our UK readers) all my shoes, sandals and boots have a 4" to 5" stiletto heel. I read once a study that determined wide chunky block style heels put more torque on the knees than slim style heels. from what I remember( and don't quote me) a slim heel higher than 3" put 27% more torque on the knees than standing bare foot while the chunky block heel put 33% more torque than bare foot. the study did not mention wedge style heels as they were regaining popularity at the time.

OK, I'll say it....
The contrarian in me has to ask this--and please understand, I mean no disrespect to the man, but:
The heels might indeed help his back, but idiots though most of them are, the commenters on the page who asked about the skirts and leggings have a point. I mean, if the heels are merely therapeutic, that ought to be all he needs, right? Though I do understand one has to accessorize. =)
Was he asked to wear all the other stuff just for the photo shoot, perhaps?

Yes.
Idiotic comments aside there is definitely more going on there.
I have seen guys dressed as guys in heels, and they can look good too!

I noticed the same thing 3 years ago
I had back pains, and nerve damage in my lower legs/feet. The pain seemed to lessen when I walked up the stairs. That put my feet at an angle like I was wearing about 3 inch heels, I tried wearing 3 1/2 inch heels and it worked, the pain in my back went away and the pain in my feet lessened. My feet have since became swollen, so I can no longer wear heels, But even my doctor agreed that whatever works is good.
