The Gaby saga started just over 12 years ago

, 2 years later Maddybell.com was started - primarily to showcase my writing but at different times it has become a focus for Fan Fiction and numerous other sidelines. The presence of the whole thing has been facilitated for all this time by Piper assisted by Cat for which i am eternally grateful. Regular visitors will know that since January there have been issues with the ftp interface that allows me to update the site, this has meant that i cannot access the server to upload new stuff.

It is therefore with heavy heart that for now I'm calling it a day with this project. Hopefully in the coming weeks we'll get things sorted out one way or another - there is talk of a revamped website but everything hinges on others input at the moment. For now then this is the last update on my site, you can still e-mail me and I will post regular updates on Big Closet but in the meantime, thank you all for supporting Maddybell.com.

I'm sorry to hear that.....

But as long as it doesn't have a negative impact on the continuing saga of Gaby and her friends I can live with it.

I have greatly enjoyed reading both your writing, and much of the fanfic. I'm looking forward to seeing the next book in the series.

Sorry to see you go.

I have long enjoyed Maddybell.com. Not only have I been able to read Gaby stories long before they appear elsewhere, but I was able to see all the other goodies. You posted pictures to show places and people. You posted background materials as well as insights into your doings, travels and interests. It was a delightful insight into Gaby and her author.
I will miss Maddybell.com. I do hope that you will be able to relaunch one of my favorites sites.

What MaddyBell.com needs...

What the situation needs is some knowledgeable Maddy/Gaby fan to step up and volunteer to help run the site. Maddy, I am sure, would rather write than deal with website problems. We will provide free hosting as long as Maddy wants to keep it up there, if we can have a few ads or links back to BC and maybe some of our other sites.

One immediate problem is that the domain is up for renewal. We can cover this from the Hatbox, I think.

Is there any technically savvy Maddy fan out there who would like this job? Then Maddy can just send her info to you by email and you can do the posting. We can help out with advice and perhaps software installation if a decision is made to switch to a CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal).

Whoever volunteers should know HTML and FTP, at the very least. Any takers?

Hugs,
Erin

Hopefully you get this fixed soon Maddy!

Since the only way I can currently enjoy new chapters of the Gaby saga is through your site, I'd be very upset if it stopped updating.

I've been reading Gaby almost as long as you've been sharing it with people, having found it on StorySite (the 100 part mass post) then moving on to your own website. I've been upset by Gaby's mom, angry at the American girls, thrilled by Gaby's biking excapades, worried for Bernie, and the characters are all very close to me.

Keep up the great work, Mad. If I had the web knowledge to help, I would.

one can just do without an extra headache, so I understand the decision. I do hope the site can be fixed up (Go Martina!) but more important to an author that the Words Must Flow, and I'm sure we will all be following young Gaby's story for some time yet.

Sadly all the best things end :( If I understand right, you will continue the story line on BC as it has been previously posted to MB's page. It will take a few weeks to stop my compulsion to look on your primary and original page for new posts. I do check it nearly every time I log on and feel like reading. Thanks again as I've said before for your time, effort and imagination which has kept us many readers enthralled for so long. It has been a journey of many changes and I will miss it greatly!!
