My second Kingston Academy Shorts has gotten a LOT more user response, and a lot more quickly, than the first one did!

So, I'd like to know: what about Ruby's short story (both before and after the rather important fixes) appealed to readers more than Jules' little mini-adventure?

Are there any characters in particular you'd like to see shorts for in the future, or other PFH mini-stories you think would be fun?

And, lastly: how many other people want to see the next chapter of Angharad's Princess For Hire: The British Kid? Show of hands?

*raises hand*

Thanks go out again to everyone who's given me comments and kudos, on ALL my work. The last year or so's been a bit of a bumpy ride for me writing-wise, so I'm glad to see there are still people willing to stick with me and who can find enjoyment in the stuff I've put up here. The response I've gotten, especially to my last few pieces, has been really, really heart-warming.

I am working my way through "Princess For Hire"

Good story.

Yes!

Another hand raised, please!

But more on your main story, as well?

Hiss! No! Nonononono! Not gonna happen! Nope!

I'm reworking the story for a book release, but other than that I'm done with Beck/y's story. There will be the shorts that might appear semi-regularly, and I have plans for a couple of book-exclusive short stories as well, but it's all within the time reference of the original story; this is where I end Becky's journey.

What more could I write that wouldn't either be too much, or disappointing? For Beck/y, the biggest hurdle of his/her life -- learning, and being happy with, WHO s/he is -- is basically done. Sure, I could make up random crap to happen to him/her at school, but at that point it'd be punishing a character who really doesn't deserve it, and I don't see much entertainment value for ME in that.

Perhaps, some day, I'll write another PFH long-form book, like a PFH: The Next Generation or something. But if I do, it will be set far enough after Beck/y's story for no student crossover to happen.

'Til then, I've been talking to another really, truly excellent author -- WAY better than my scribblings, that's for sure -- about her contributing to the PFH lore, and the amazingly talented Ang's, of course, got her TBK series. If the Kingston Academy Shorts aren't enough, those'll just have to scratch your itch :P
