I bet most people thought the end of Princess For Hire would never come, huh? I bet you were all thinking it was just another piece of abandoned writing on the site, left to forever linger on the cusp of a conclusion.

It wouldn't surprise me. Heck, I've got a LOT of unfinished stuff here. Hence, what I'm about to ask:

Which one of my old stories should I finish next?

This is a bigger question than it might at first seem.

I have three major incomplete stories on the site right now: Echoes, Boys of Summer, and Switcheroo. Switcheroo, in all honesty, isn't really a contender, not because I don't intend to continue it, but actually specifically BECAUSE I do: Switcheroo is something I've envisioned much like the comics that inspired it, never really having a true ending, even if eventually the TG content does taper off substantially. Instead, there are really two big stories I want input on: Echoes, or Boys of Summer.

Here's the facts:

--Whichever one we pick, this will be more than just writing more to tack onto what's already there. Both of these stories are quite old, and will instead be rewritten from the beginning. The plots will pretty much be the same, but I'm a very different writer than I was when I started them, so many elements of the stories are going to change.

--I already know, and have known for years, where each story ends, and my plans for those endings aren't going to change: not unless something really incredibly amazing comes along to replace it with. So, if you've already talked to me about future events of either story and were unhappy with what I'd had planned for them, keep in mind that is still what will more than likely happen.

--Choosing to work on one will not discount the other. I fully intend to eventually rework BOTH stories, but I want to know which one people would like to see more of first. Personally, I'm kinda leaning toward Echoes, but Boys of Summer would probably be the shorter project, so there are advantages to both.

--The old chapters of both will remain on the site, and whichever one "wins" the vote, I'll be asking for details on what was present in the original that people want me to keep, and what they think needs reworked. Yes, John, that means that the squids will remain in Echoes. Some names will likely change, however, including Miriam's (maybe Marion? I'll work something out,) all in the name of making the stories work better than my 20-year-old self could manage.

There you have it: all the pertinents on what my next continuation/revamp will be.

Well, okay, there is one more thing: whichever one we pick, it will likely be at least a couple of months before you can expect to start seeing anything come of it. I'm still working on the eBook version of Oh, Cheers/Phoenix Soars (2/3 of the way through!) and I'm also working on cleaning up and improving Princess For Hire for release as an ebook as well (more details there later) so I've got enough on my plate as-is to keep me busy, not to mention other, brand new IPs I've been working on too! Still, I don't want to abandon my older darlings either.

So? Whatcha think? Feel free to include a why with your recommendation, or even a few things you want changed when I work on it as well. OUTLINES WILL BE MADE, for once in my life: it's helped with Phoenix Soars, so I'm pretty sure it'll help here too.

50% more squid? Ummmm, yummy.

I liked both but as I had some input on Echoes...

Good to see you writing again.

Thanks for responding John.

Given the low response my last blog received as well, I'm guessing people have pretty much forgotten about me as an author around here :P

If it's just between me and you, then the answer is already decided. Come on, people, speak up! Whether you want one or the other, lemme know!

Voting is SO last... well, yesterday...

I have to vote for Boys of Summer just because I loved reading it lo, those many years ago.

But I can wait - go where your muse pokes you. To.

Runoff votes

Save all the expenses and effort of those tiresome tie-breaker votes! How, you ask!?

Why, through the modern miracle of "Ballot Box Stuffing!"

Yes, kind author - I'll vote TWICE! for Boys of Summer!

;-)

{It's still up to you, though, so don't feel pressured by progress, etc.}

Michelle

Ah, but see, now you've only tied it up!

Since my personal vote leans toward Echoes we were a vote ahead. Now that you've borked the system, though, it's a dead heat! What ever are we to do?!

:D

Come on, people! Opinions are needed!
