It's been a little strange going back over stories I wrote 5 years ago and hadn't looked at for 2 years. Whilst I can remember the Eve plot, some of the chapters surprise me when I read them, prior to editing & revision. Of course, that does help the grammar checking as it's not a very familiar text.

I'm running several chapters ahead with Eve, but as I warned earlier the chapter numbers have changed.

Unexpected Gains seems to have a mind of its own right now. I'd originally planned on 4 chapters but we're past there and the potential for this story is incredible. I've also added chapter teaser titles to the current and previous chapters. So far chapter 8 is written, chapters 9 & 10 will be completed by tomorrow. Some of the terminology and references used in UG is very British, I'm also drawing on real places and institutions I'm familiar with (don't ask, as I'll clam up like the housekeeper), including their nicknames. Because of that I've added a character index with references to job titles and employers.

Yes, Dr Fox is a crossover character from Eve, couldn't help that one! If you read both you'll see a contradiction (deliberate) let me know if you spot it!

Whilst UG is ongoing, Tammy won't be touched. Apols, but time is a limitation.

Unexpected Gains

Hi Rhona

I'm really enjoying writing UG as it's a bit different to anything I've written before, but as I said in the blog it's a subject area I have knowledge of (and not from watching 1970s detective dramas!). Whilst I've anchored it in 2014, it could be set in virtually any year this decade.

I finished Ch9 yesterday evening and have ch10 almost done, couple of good cliff-hangers too! Just to be really cruel, the teaser title of ch6 is "Bye, bye David?"

Wow. Unexpected gains was originally going to be 4 chapters. And now it is 2 published books with 2 more in the works. Really great books. That's quite something. I have just finished a marathon read of everything you've published here and on Kindle. It's been an awesome week. I love your work. I look forward to reading what you publish next. Thank you.
