Breasts for those who have them.

Printer-friendly version

So in assisting authors to write more realistically, Size B is the average size of a Woman's breast. They do not jiggle when one walks. I only notice them when I run without a bra on.

As far as I am concerned, bras are the machination of satan.

A lady does not sit at the kitchen table and just pop a tampon into her vagina. It is most comfortably done in the privacy of a woman's bathroom, slightly squatting with knees spread.

That reading something prompted these comments?

Not that I disagree of course, just curious as to what might have prompted you to post.

sometimes, jiggle that is.

Angharad

I wish mine did.

I've taken to not wearing bras because they are so damnably uncomfortable. I have several dresses and tops that offer a bit of support and make them look larger than they are.

As do mine.....

Especially on stairs, or when I go running or cycling.

At least running and cycling I can wear a sports bra, but as I'm not yet full time I still get to deal with the jiggling on the stairs.

"First Moon Party" in real life!

While I LOVED the video, in our religious tradition, Wicca, the woman DO have something like this!

It's sort of like a "Bat Mitzvah", ( the Jewish female "Coming of Age" celebration ) , but for young Wiccan girls when they " Gain the power to bleed but not die "( actual line in the ritual ).

The new ADULT woman gets gifts, normally a ring with a red gem from her mother.( most times it's a ruby - small but real ), and other gifts from the all the women in attendance.

Can't really go in to too much detail, it IS an real " inner ritual " of our Wiccan Tradition, but you get the idea.

Meh...

Not all B cups are the same. The larger the torso, the more flesh go into making the B-cup. Walking up and down stairs can get a jiggle.

As to the changing tampon --- I take it that you used the word Lady and the char in the story is a lady, but IRL a lot of females consider themselves ladies and are anything but. Do a google search for the foul bachelorette meme and you'll get an idea of what's possible.

I am a lady.

And those who know me can confirm that.

I have not used Tampons as there is no need. However I have used a pad when the flow from my Vagina gets too heavy. I do not know how common the practice is but in my operation they took the Vas Deferens that used to go to my gonads and attached one of them to the posterior part of the vagina to provide lubrication.

The flow is usually a white or clear fluid.

I think I'm confused now

I thought you were using the word lady as in how classy or refined a female human could be, and not a catch all label to indicate genitalia. I meant no adverse reflection on you. I just thought you were referring to something you read...

Sorry for my assumption causing confusion.

Unsupported B-cup breasts do indeed jiggle when I walk, and attract a lot of unwanted attention unless I wear something very baggy. And without a bra, stairs are positively painful to descend, I drive with one arm across my ribs to support them over bumps, and by the end of a day, I hurt. The only reason I go braless is extreme heat, because bras are a) hot, and b) sweaty in the heat.

Tampons, no kidding. Never used one, but - the kitchen table?? EWW!

I am sub normal.

However in warm weather here, I see lots of women just wearing a tank top with a sort of shelf bra sewn in.

Mostly, these are women in the 17 to 25 age bracket who do this. Being near the college I see lots of it. I can say that in that group of women I am comfortably normal.

Of course when I transitioned, the Estrodial really did little for me. Then I got a bad kidney infection and the Doc decided that Estrodial pills were too hard on my organs. Then she put me on patches, and within two months I had rapid breast growth. So realistically, mine are only about 5 years old and gravity has not had its way with them yet. :)

LoL - I was just talking about this

I'm not sure what specific story set this off but I had to laugh because I was just talking about it with people... on Crystal Hall maybe? It's one of my biggest "didn't research" pet peeves with TG Fiction. Pre-maturity high school boy grows breasts. Stripper breasts. He goes from the average 32 or 34" high school male skinny chest to needing a 50 HHH bra. Ok... yes, HHH is indeed indicative of stripper sized breasts... Vegas Headliner strippers. But there's this little distinction between cup size and band size that makes understanding what is happening really really different.

A skinny high school kid holding up He-Man's sword and yelling "By the Power of Greyskull..." is going to increase his chest size from 32" up to mid or even high 40's. This measurement is the circumference of the chest. But the really important part for bra sizing and TG Fiction... is that it is the chest BELOW the breast. You have to be very large for your chest circumference to hit 50" ... college linebacker big.

And then the letters, cup size, is based on the difference between that and a similar measurement around the largest part of the chest (over the breasts, usually while in a bra that holds them up enough that there's no sag). If you look at basic 3D frameworking... that difference is basically the amount those breasts protrude forward from the chest (difference in front to back diameter changes while the diameter left to right stays the same). So if the breasts protrude a half inch from the natural chest, you've added an inch to your circumference... and so on.

The standard cup sizes correspond to the number of inches you add to your circumference (occasionally bra companies have a couple inch modifier here, but the principle is the same). A cup = 1", B cup = 2", C cup = 3" and D cup = 4" ... doubling the letter is the same as using the next higher letter. tripling it is +2 (ie DDD is the same as F). So, in the example of 50HHH, the breasts are 10" more circumference beyond the 50" chest (a total chest measurement of 60").

Going back to looking at the measurement in terms of protrusion, cup size is relative to 1/2 of the value it adds to circumference. So A cup breasts 'only' protrude 1/2" from the chest. D cup only protrudes 2". HHH protrudes 5". With your right hand, stick a ruler against your rib cage in the center of your chest. Cup your left hand/curl your fingers and hold it over where your left breast is/would be... if your palm were 5" out. Put down the ruler and add the second hand the same distance out. That's how far out your HHH cup stripper breasts would be... from underarm to center cleavage, from sternum to an inch or two below your collar bones. All breast.

Now... on the 50" linebacker chest? Closer... but still not realistic. That's because body size aesthetics are about proportionality. And the 'depth' of the average chest (without breasts) is generally measured in single digits. Yes, the circumference of the chest may be 30-40"... but with a 34" chest, you're probably looking at 9-10" across (front and back, a total of 18-20"). That leaves 14-16" for depth on the left side and the right side... in other words, from shoulder blade or spine to chest or sternum is only 7-8". Adding an inch of protrusion to that (a B cup), is a reasonably proportional amount (12-14%). Adding 5"? Insanity. Even on your linebacker with 10-11" chest depth, 5" of protrusion is more than nearly four times that ratio.

And that... is body proportionality / bra-size rant ver 3.22 If someone needs this soapbox, you're welcome to it; my rant is over.

Two troo.

A 36" band (under-breast) measure and 39" around the breasts is a 36-B, 36-C or 38-B cup, depending on the bra. (And the manufacture: I have a French bra that's tagged as a 36-D that fits perfectly - same measurements.)

Bra Size

I usually go to a custom bra shop where they carry 40b bras. Actually 42 would be more comfortable but they insist on 40, saying they will stretch.

As to my breasts, they are very perky, not sagging at all. For practicality, I usually wear a tight synthetic t shirt, and a loose top over to reduce nipple show.

In a couple months, I may go back to the shop to get another bra because I am still growing.

Honestly, I never notice jiggle unless I am running and that does get inconvenient at times.

This isn't always accurate...

Especially for a male body. By measurements I would have an 'A' or small 'B' cup, but I cannot fill even an 'A' cup bra, because the fat extends so far to the side of my torso, instead of all being in front.

Average but not normal

Take a large pool of women, measure each one of them, combine the results and divide by the number of women in the pool. That gives you the "average" body size, say the legendary 36-24-36 with a D-cup. Go back to the raw data and look it over. Shock!! Nobody has those measurements! None of the women are average! What that says is this: we are all unique. Your size is not my size or anybody else's. Women 1 through 36 have a B-cup and a jiggle. Women 37 through 60 have no jiggle, even if they have a breast sizes in all ranges from A+ to F. We are all different, none of us were poured into a mold then released.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

Aww

"We are all different, none of us were poured into a mold then released."

So now we can't say "you broke the mold" endearingly to someone? I'm sad now.

You sure know how to stir up a hornets nest!

So I'll add my five cent's worth, the kitchen table thing YUCK, YUCK AND DOUBLE YUCK how gross
privacy is called for.

As for Bra's, a good fitting bra, I honestly forget I have one on, those that squash, squidge, push and generally
try to make your boobs do what they don't want to do I totally agree they are a instrument of the devil!

As for bouncing, my 38C girls certainly bounce when running up stairs, or a bus or when jogging, or at the gym
a good sports bra keeps them under control, you never want to get joggers nipple - It hurts.

As pointed out we are all different - thank god!

Could be worse

The tampon at the kitchen table could be the thing that stirs the hornets nest. Candyman anyone? Just sayin'.

I think a lot of the bra size issues simply stem from the mass confusion around bras themselves. A little research goes a long way though. Just Google a how to on it.

My first few bras were trial and error on the cup size, but the band was easy enough to figure out. The confusing part came later, the first time I had sex, when I realized all of my bras fastened in the back, and my girlfriend's bra fastened in the front. Talk about confusing times for any teenager.

I highly doubt that is to do

I highly doubt that is to do with natural breast sizes.

I'd probably say the natural breast size average is either still a B or is a C.....

Definitely not a DD.

Due to the general fitness level or lack thereof in American society, As a woman grows, her chest usually grows along with it. If she loses 5 lbs, then it will all be from her chest (at least that is what I always hear) :)

Also I'm not sute if this was mentioned or not, but US sizes aren't the same as UK sizes, and I'd guess other foreign measurement standards.

Breasts-if you have them or know someone who does

I'm sorry if this is a little off-topic, but I was at the NCIN Conference in the UK a couple of weeks ago and I heard a really inspiring talk from a young lady called Kris who is the CEO of a charity called coppafeel.org. She has Stage4 breast cancer (there is no stage 5), it was diagnosed when she was 23 (she 28 now). Her call to arms was to get everyone with boobs to talk about, look at them and check them out because early diagnosis makes a huge difference. If you have breasts, check out their website at http://coppafeel.org because it's not just gg women over 50 who can get this disease.
I'm really sorry if I upset anyone with this post. But after hearing Kris talk so passionately about her wish that some had told her, or her GP had listened to her before it was so late for her it makes it seem like a good thing to inform people.

Cop a Feel

Thanks, Morgan

This is a great place to post this. Self-examinations and regular screening are easy, painless (except for some *minor* discomfort during the x-rays), and really, they mostly feel *good*! And these simple actions could be life-saving.

So do them. Protect yourself. Cop a feel.
