Never ever saw my mother after the age of six.
The bitch rejected me after finding out I was Tee. How can a kid or an adult ever forgive that?
I know what you mean.
My mom is one of those people that is absolutely convinced that it's all about her. I could tell horror stories, but there's no real point.
I wish I'd had a real mom.
~And so it goes...
I miss her...
I definitely know what you mean hon. My mom has been gone 4 1/2 years now and I miss her every day! Thankfully my spouse and I were with her the half the day, the day she passed and we had a lovely time having breakfast, chatting, going around her yard looking at her flowers and small garden. I cherish every second we got to spend with her and especially that day!! I was doubly bless in that both my dad and my mom knew about me and gave me their love and support! That made a world of difference when I came out and later came back to our small home town to live!
You reminded me how short
You reminded me how short life is, so I just went and called my mom... its been a while since weve talked as we dont see eye to eye on my life choices. But Thank you
♥♥
I never felt like this
My childhood memories are bitter and unpleasant, and a lot of that had to do with Mom. I never did forgive her before she passed, and if she were alive today, I probably still wouldn't. Some of it was vicious, such as stating bluntly when I was 6 or 7 that they wished I'd have been my sister, so they'd have their one girl and one boy - essentially telling me they didn't want me. That was the type of crap I got all the time.
I know she was ignorant of what she was doing, but it was very, very hurtful. I'm more convinced than ever that we grow up and be successful in spite of our parents, and less because of them. I doubt there's anyone out there who isn't damaged in some way by one or both parents.
Dad - different story. He passed when I was too young. I'd give almost anything to spend an hour with him now. He was stern, but I understood his very tough childhood, and how that affected him (even when I was young, I knew).
I'm envious of those who can spend time with their parents. I really am. Take advantage of it while you can.

Moms vary
Even though I'd been disowned by my parents when I hit them with my coming out double play, my mom was the one that gave me much needed support when my partner was killed. We repaired our relationship and even improved it as she came to fully understand me. She passed away in May, and this is my first Christmas without her. Everybody says it will get better. Maybe it will, I dunno. In the meantime I've cancelled my Christmas, I just can't get in the mood.
In the meantime I want to thank everybody for their kind words, I had pretty much hit bottom the other day.

I'm glad that you can miss your mom
It's hard to miss someone, but the fact that you do shows your love for her. I hope you find peace in memories of the relationship you were able to repair and of her support for you.
