Not a lot of responses so I'm guessing I already know this idea is dead in the water, but I figured I would give further explanation so people know exactly what I'm talking about.
If I do an audiobook, I would be using a professional narrator who is in a studio with real equipment and knowledge of what he is doing. I would not be reading the book myself, nor do I have a desire to do so. I would split the royalties with the voice actor and it would be available via standard outlets.
If that helps make a difference, let me know. If not I will bang my head against the keyboard a million times until another story produces itself the old fashioned way.

Probably not the right audience

I think this is probably the wrong place to ask about audio book popularity. Anyone on these boards likes reading, and has also already read your stories if they're interested. An audio book is going after a different audience, and I really have no idea how/whether it would be popular or not. I suspect that's why you're not getting much response. It's certainly my own reasoning.

Audiobook business
It would be interesting to see numbers on audiobook sales compared to print and ebooks for titles in various genres. My expectation is that they are relatively small compared to the other formats.
Audiobooks tend to be priced higher than the other formats for the same title, which is not surprising given the added production costs. Amazon often has a deal where customers can buy the audiobook at a substantial discount if they buy the Kindle or print format, but I think in those cases the Kindle books are being sold at a higher price point than your books are targeting.
All in all, I doubt that going to audiobooks would be a profitable business decision for you or other authors in this genre. But I freely admit this conclusion is based more on speculation than fact, so you'll need to do your own business case analysis if you want to pursue the audiobook market.
However it works out, you're a first-rate author and I wish you great continued success!
