I'm really starting to get frustrated and I am on the verge of lashing out. My neighbors are becoming insufferable because they have issues with the fact that I am trans.
The other night, one of them propositioned me as if I were a hooker. NOT COOL
But there are others who live there who love to gawk and to whisper and to laugh. Last night I was leaving my house to go to work. Mind you, I don't wear a dress to work because I deliver papers. Cotton shorts and a top works just fine. I get to go to my car and there's this woman gawking at me. She can't take her eyes off of me. I just stopped and stared back at her until she got the idea that I wasn't amused. I don't know what to do, if things ever came to an altercation, even verbally, the cops are going to take their side. I own my home, where they just rent, and I wonder what I can do to insure my safety. I don't want to be taunted in my own home.

Best of luck
I wish I had some advice to offer you. The best I can give is to learn to laugh at it. Their lives appear to be so dull that you are a main source of their entertainment. Pretty pathetic on their part, really. Certainly keep an eye out and if anything escalates, even a bit, make sure you report it. But if it stays at stares and laughter - stare and laugh back?
You do have friends, here and elsewhere, and are putting your life together. Remember that, and don't let small people get under your skin.

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
For a start...
...try to ignore them - at least when you're within sight / sound of them. If you need to let of steam, make sure it's in a location (or failing that, a method) that can't be observed or overheard by them. If they think their insults aren't having the desired effect, they'll either give up (hopefully!) or try to escalate their campaign (eek!)
If there's any sign of the latter, adopt one recommended practice for neighbourly disputes: start logging the incidents and the dates / times they occur. The log itself won't be much help to anyone initially, but if their campaign does significantly escalate (particularly if it gets beyond verbal insults and stares), you can use it as evidence of how long / how frequent it's been going on.
Besides which, as they're renting, if they're sufficiently freaked out by your very existence they've always got the option of finding smoewhere else to live, which you don't.
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Put them into a story!
Yep, you can do anything you want with them - perhaps a bit of forced fem, or maybe you'll expose their latent homosexuality.
Next time you see them, you'll be laughing at the mess they got into.
The good thing is, it's all legal (as long as they can't be identified).
Enjoy

Do you know ...
... the name and addess of the OWNER and/or LETTING AGENT of th rented propery?
If you do write to them and explaine what has been happening, also point out to the letting agent, if there is one, if this esculates and you get hurt that you will write to the local papers with the story, loss of earnings through bad press will always motivate a company to do the right thing, also it only costs the price of a piece of mail that has to be signed for.
"The other night, one of them propositioned me as if I were a hooker. NOT COOL"
Is this the same Ignoramous that asked those crass questions?
If so get a Photo of him and make some flyers with the head line "POSSIBLE SEXUAL PREDATOR !!!"
I know I know slander, however 'he' has no character to defimate, I had the image in mind of those 'neighbours' having to put up with the staring, pointing and sniggering.
That being said just reading those crass comments, made me think 'POSSIBLE SEXUAL PREDATOR' about 'him', and my skin is still crawling.
I know some really Insensive guys, you can't choose family, and I'm pretty sure that they wouldnt do what that fool did?
