I've asked Erin to change my author name and I've changed my user name from JadenSkywalker8, so that it more reflects who I am mentally.

What's in a name?

At times I consider myself lucky in that my real name (Dallas), although technically a male name if you go back to the Gaelic meaning, has been used for both boys and girls enough that it would be perfectly acceptable to not change it. In fact, my therapist has actually suggested that my transition would be much easier by keeping it.

I'm not sure about that though. I definitely need to change at least my middle name as their is no way that I am keeping it, lol! I have always hated it, plus the fact that it is definitely a masculine name.

I have been through several names for myself over the years, but nothing has ever really stood out in my mind. I have seriously considered Caitlynn - and if nothing else I think that will become my middle name. I have also thought of asking my mother what I would have been named if I was a girl, but as my parents really wanted a boy they may never have even had one picked out. Too bad they didn't get one, lol!

The way I look at it, a name should mean something to you - even if that is just the fact that it seems to fit you.

Congratulations on your new one!
