Hi,

I'm a long time fictionmania lurker and therefore fairly new to BigCloset. Is it possible to use an include/exclude tag search? Because so far I haven't found one...

Anyway, the main reason I'm posting is because I'm hoping for new story suggestions. Purely by chance I stumbled upon Sleethr's "She of the Jade Skirt", and I absolutely loved this story! Since this story hasn't been posted at fm, I'm wondering if there are more such stories over here which I don't know of. If yes, could you please recommend some? :)

I absolutely love long stories (novellas and novels) which incorporate a magic or sci-fi gender change (therefore no crossdressing, operation or similar) and where the transformed main character has to adapt to her new life during some sort of adventure. And if she, additionally to her new body, gains some sort of "powers", all the better.

You'll probably like Armond's stories, the older ones are on FM, the newer ones are here on this site. Sadly the author seems to have disappeared, but almost all of his/her stories are finished. http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book/21258/armond

There has been no real canon author support for almost half a year now. I like the universe a lot but it looks like a lot of authors have bailed.

Well... Dr. Bender is still around. Bek has just published some stuff last week or so. The problem is that they can't access the ftp for their website, I think.. so they upload the stories on the forum.

Pretty much exactly what you describe - teens changing sex and gaining extraordinary abilities due to sci-fi, with a good dash of adventure as well. ;-)

If you're a fan of comic-booky superheroics, LightOfFury's Rise of Heros universe should also fit your bill.

If you go to the main Whateley site, you can also find additional archives in the "library" section for several of the authors there, whose stories might interest you. I particularly recommend Maggie Finson's "Heaven and Hell" universe, with some great stories not only by her, but Bek Corbin and a couple of others as well.

Speaking of Maggie, also check out her story "Maiden by Decree," which is a very fun magic transformation story as well.

One of my all time favorites in the Sci-fi genre is Tigger's "Fornever in Blue Gene's - a Wish the Heart Makes" over at FM. I've had high hopes that Tigger would some day make a sequel to this great story. I understand the Tigger's tigress is going through bad health now however so I would like to give them both my very best wishes on a successful recovery for her!!

Regarding KeikoJade's Mermaid: I know at least to alternate locations - my harddrive and my ebook reader. If it's not against the rules to share something which has been taken down (presumably by the author) on another site, I can upload it.

There is almost no difference between these two copies. Both appear to be a screen scrape from fictionMania

These are both html files hiding in a .txt estension
Once you have the .txt file open, use "save as" (menu file -> save as, or cntl+s, or right click -- at least in firefox anyway)
in the save dialog, change the extension to .htm . Open the saved file in your browser of choice and enjoy.

I would definately suggest you reading Aardvark's "The Warrior from Batuk" which you can find here and another story that is found at Fictionmania a story by Brandy DeWinter call "Milady's Wiles". Both well written with plots and storylines that are fantastic. The Rusted Blade and the story called "Ragnorak Rising by D.A.W. good luck and I hope you enjoy my suggestions.

I got the germ of the idea from Julie O's "Revenge of the Goddesses: Athena's Assassin"

I really like her story and have read it a couple of times now.

Then, after a lot of chat's with Drawflow while I was writing Whisper and Mystique, I wanted to write a story that starred Drawflow and used his expertise.
