Perspectives: a novel with eight voices

A story told from several perspectives

This novel has certainly taken a very different approach: Telling the "same" story from several different points of view!

As a reader we get to see the story unfold through the "eyes" of the eight protagonists. And it is allways from the first person perspective, and therefore much more engaging.

Yes, we got to read about the same action several times. But it was never repetitive. Rather we got to share in the thoughts and feelings of each narrator. And so the story remained fresh and captivating through-out.

If this story had been told by a narrator in the third person, it might have been shorter by about a third and would not have allowed such a deep insight into the feelings of the protagonists.

I got the feeling that Josie and Karen might eventually become couple, Jenny is going to be very close to and protective of her sister Josie, and Denise will be a very close friend.

Personally I would appreciate reading a sequel to Josie's summer adventure and how she gets on with her transition. And it would be plus reading it in a similar format of different perspectives.
