Becoming Robin
A Tale of Self-Discovery
By Zoe Taylor

Come follow the story of young Robert Smith

as he discovers the girl she always wanted to be.

“Is this the Smith residence?” A professional-sounding female voice asked.

“Yes ma’am,” I responded as politely as I could to make up for my earlier ‘oops’. “How may I help you?”

“Is this Robert Smith? My name’s Sharon. I’m a 9-1-1 dispatcher.”

I could feel the blood drain from my face. “What’s going on?” I asked, failing miserably at my attempts to contain the panic I felt welling up within already.

Becoming Robin as a Whole

Zoe,

I've spent many happy hours reading the Becoming Robin series. I have looked forward to the posts every day, and it is a highlight of my day to read through.

I won't give any of the plot away on this comment, but I truly enjoyed the entire series. I laughed, I cried and I came to care for all the characters, not just Robin. It is a wonderful series and I want to really compliment you on this.

To those of you who are trying to figure out if you want to read this series, please take my advice, read it. You will not be sorry you did.

Tissue Alert!

A very well told emotional story of self-discovery! It should be a must-read for pediatric-what-ever-profession. I felt so many of my own experiences and issues resonate while reading this delightfull account.

Exceedingly well written

Becoming Robin is very well written, and very sweet. It is hard to believe that this is Zoe's first story, given the very high quality. I read through it in a day, and am looking forward to reading additional stories in the Robinverse. The characters are very well developed, the storyline is well plotted, and while one is left desiring a sequel the story is resolved and complete in itself; the desire for a sequel is due to how one has come to care for the characters, not because too many threads are unresolved.

...for fear that they might be found and misunderstood. This story would be on my bookshelf if I had a little more freedom. But even so, maybe someday I'll be able to point to Robin's story and say that the best part of it all is knowing and loving such precious girls like Zoe and Ashleigh.

Unexpected surprise :-D

I never thought Becoming Robin would be brought to the forefront as a Retro Classic, alongside some of my personal favorite writers and stories. *blush*

No hard copy yet, but I finally revised chapter 1 of the first book to be a little less "in your face", a little more subtle. I would have posted that version here at TopShelf, but I promised not to edit this version (even though I feel it really needs it :-P) because too many people like it just like it is. :-)

I've been thinking about epubbing again, so we'll see what happens :-) Thanks for honoring me like this, though. I've been kind of sick this week, and this really just brightened my night considerably.

You took the blue pill too? ;-)

Teehee. Sometimes it feels like that, like the night we met I took the blue pill. But I haven't regretted it - not one single millisecond. Thank you for being a part of the Robinverse, and such a big part of my life.

A lot of people don't know this, but if not for Ashleigh, there wouldn't have been any more Robin after Book 2. I was ready to just hang it up and stop writing, but she, and friends like Piper, encourage me to keep going.

I hope readers continue to enjoy Robin's adventures, and those of the other wonderful characters in our little universe *giggle*

So?

Where's the story?

Well, it would be nice

If it said so somewhere up at the top. You know, something like 'Story now available on XXXX' along with a link. Its not hard to do, and would make things so much simpler for the potential reader.
