According to the Daily Telegraph it's all to do with the jet stream and not global warming. I'm not sure I care any longer what is causing it only that it would stop and allow us some summer before the winter starts again.

The sun is coming and it's expected that temperatures will reach +25 by the end of the next week.
I'm actually glad, as I'm planning to have short vacation in England and Scotland soon.
No flooding here in Bath.
But then, it's a hilly city.
Unlike most cats, I actually like water. In fact, I'm off for a swim. ^_^
Well...
since the jet stream is largely fuelled by the difference between the temperature at the poles and that at the equator, the fact that the poles are warming up doubtless has something to do with it, despite the fact that the science isn't quite good enough to predict exactly what will happen. Even chaotic systems have an inner logic; we just can't measure finely enough to see what they are, except on a very large scale.
