well my day started last night really. To get a better Idea though I'll give a bit of back history.
A friend has asked me to fix his car. It's a 1966 Chrysler, nice car but the old rubber needs replacing. Since there is very few people that can do the job correctly I get to do it.
In exchange for the work I am getting a 1991 Power Ram. Its a 4 x 4 that also needs some work. However in the meantime it is still his truck. So he uses it and while driving the exhaust breaks he keeps driving it breaks more and he runs over the exhaust pipe and breaks some stuff.
Last night I take the truck to patch up the exhaust, it takes me 6 hours of my time, and 3 feet of exhaust pipe to fix it, half the works is because of badly done previous work that I had to repair.
I phone him today and ask that since he was driving that it would be nice if he could cover some of the cost. A fair request, he wants to talk about it...
We work on his car today and finish most of the work that has taken over a week to complete. His new truck he just bought has problems that quess who gets to fix.
To say I am over tired most of the time lately may be an understatement. I have not even had enough time at home to launder my bed sheets or fix my bed frame, it needs the old wood glue removed and some small dowels to repair simple fix really.
I don't know it feels like I am getting the short end of the deal in this situation. I have driven the truck so far twice to do repairs on it, I'm thrilled...not.
Of course I get the "Oh wow your a girl who fixes cars! Marry me please!" all the time, it gets old fast. And getting rust and dirt down your bra grinding against your breasts is no fun either.
Getting home and making what should have been a nice comment and finding people take it completely the wrong way doesn't help either. I just cannot read implications in a sentence. It always seems to be "Well you implied..." and poof someone is pissed at me. My response is the same "I did no such thing I just wrote..."
Oh well that has been my day. I'm back at it tomorrow.

I've always wished I could do things like that, but...
I'm very mechanically disabled (aka incompetent when anywhere near tools). After reading your post, I think maybe I'm glad I can't do stuff like that! I think I'll just stick with reading, writing and editing.
My wife (who is mechanically inclined) thanks you. She hates it when I try to help!
