They sent her over from the rest home with a temp they couldn't get down but the doctors at the hospital don't seem too worried and Mom is in good spirits and actually a little less confused than she's been being. I've got a cold so I don't dare get too close and I'm running a temp myself, a mild one. They're giving her antibiotics and intravenous liquids and will keep her for at least a couple of days. I'll go over in the morning to check on her but I think she's going to be fine and back in the convalescent hospital soon.

....you are both well again soon. Your mum probably has a UTI, which usually respond well to antibiotics.

Again my sympathies; sounds like not a particulary dangerous situation this time but it's another phone call about a trip to the hospital, the worries & frustration; I know damn well it isn't easy; and again my hopes for a speedy recovery...... And as you've been reminded before (not by me last time, it seemed you had enough mother hens clucking at you), take care of your own self too; this site is wonderful but I'd hate for you to work yourself into exhaustion/collapse for the sake of my entertainment & social wants...

Went to see mom
Didn't stay long because of my cold. She'd pulled out all of her tubes and wires and as soon as she saw mw, she tried to get out of bed. I called the nurse and left. It's so sad.

Don't stress out
Untimately your mom must be responcible for herself.
You have done all that you can to provide her the care she needs to recover and remain reasonably independent in her old age. Don't kill yourself trying to be Super Daughter. Despite the cape and spandex bodysuit you often wear here -- looks sharp too -- you are not from a distant planet and all but indestructable.

Mom to ICU
They took mom into the ICU for respiratory distress. She seems to be doing well there. I'm going back to bed.
