Well. That's the end of 'The Ram'
Some have said the end seemed a bit rushed and a bit cruel. I feel I must in part agree with them. Not all stories can have happy endings and death comes to us all sooner ... or later.
I was getting slightly jealous of Daphne and wondering where to take her. This ending exorcises any lingering problems I had.
In truth I felt this story was going nowhere and I was losing the plot. I read other stories on BCTS and I can only admire the way some authors can keep the plot tight and directional. My stories seem to end up as a series of loosely connected cameos and that frustrates me.
I could make several excuses for this failing, : Too much going on in RL with it's constant distractions... writing on the hoof instead of finishing off the whole story and then posting it ... running out of ideas, the list seems endless.
My endings are often weak; that is if I manage to end the stories at all. There are several stories on Fictionmania that are unfinished.
This ending therefore has several objectives. It was a poor attempt to shock people into commenting, (yes I'm vain and I live for comments). I also needed closure and a rest. I also need to get on with other stuff.
I just don't understand how a certain wirter can churn it out every day!! That would kill me!
Then I surprise myself and occasionally, (very, very, occasionally) I write one reasonably passable chapter like Chapter 1 of the rescue.
Well, I did not know how to Finish The Ram and it's taken up too much time so I'm going to try and finish other stories before attempting anything new.
I'm returning now to 'The Angry Mermaid' to finish that then I'll finish 'The Rescue' then after that well, who knows. I'll be spending more time clubbing and cycling cos that gives me peace of mind.
Bye for now.
Bev

Thanks for the story
As a new reader, I only started reading 'The Ram' last week, and while initially I was uncomfortable with the ending, what were the choices? Daphne survives by fluke? Bad guy killed by title figure? Very convenient but far away from real life where more likely bad guy survives then sues for compensation!
Endings are always hard for both writer and reader, sometimes when I near the end of a good book, I'll stop and put it aside because foolishly I don't want it to end, how silly is that. Eventually every story ends, happy or otherwise.
Thanks Bev for a really good read, look forward to reading your other stories.

End of 'The Ram'
A bittersweet ending to a good story
May Your Light Forever Shine
What about the Lamb?
Stop putting down your writting. It is your right as you are the author, however as the reader I have read everything you have posted hear more than once. I just finished rereading Spacetran for the 4th time.
The Lamb was very well done!!
The Ram was just getting all to sweetness and light which is good just hard to keep up.
All stories need to come to an end sooner or later.
Thank you for getting back to the Mermaid I look forward to reading more
Thank you for all of your hard work
James

RIP, the story was enjoyable
I had wondered if she was dead, perhaps a check for a pulse would have helped a few readers, myself included, understand that. I was not quite sure until your blog posting.
