South Bend, IN passes LGBT anti-discrimination legislation! Heck, I might even move back down there with the rest of the family! I'm really surprised in such a Catholic town!

surprised.. for a different reason

I must say that I'm surprised that this passed, because there is already plenty of laws in place for anit-discrimination in reguards to LGBT employees.

...then again it *IS* in a different state than I'm in...

but here you can't discriminate against... well... pretty much anything...
anyone who does, looses their jobs... or employers face nice hefty lawsuits for allowing the behavior to continue.

The hard part is -as always- proof... and i doubt very seriously that this legislation somehow magically aides in providing the smoking guns needed.

but i must applaud their efforts at least :) a step in the right direction

~Your only Limitation is your Imagination~

Believe it or not

Most Catholics I've met are a lot more respectful of gay and transgender rights. Maybe that's because of Rome, and Europe is a little more liberal in general. I know Catholics who use contraception as well. Most of them are Catholics "in the times," rather they live life according to how the world works today. Sometimes I think that a lot of the controversy is spun out of control by government, and further by the media.

When the chips are down...

Instead of getting sympathy and understanding, you end up being the butt of a joke.

Well, at least the doctors were able to get to the bottom of the situation.
