a primer for "Bike"?

I was thinking the other day of starting to read "Bike" but the fact that I'm entering that world so late kinda intimidates me. Is there a primer of summary to help new readers get into it?

Coronation Street

Nah, I'm sure it's like watching Corry... you'll pick it up after a week.

I Agree

Just start reading. You'll pick up the relationships soon enough. It's likely/possible you'll get interested enough to want to go back to the beginning.

Bike

Don't be afraid to get into it, even this late. There is a summary listed in the off site area which is listed at the start of the chapter list. Each "episode" in "soap opera" terms is only 3-4 pages, once in a while a bit more. They are available broken down in short "groups" , I assemble mine in 300 page increments. They go quickly, especially if you can take them on a reader with you. I use an old IPAQ with sd cards to store text and doc files.

Well

I would start from the beginning. I did and I think it more than worthwhile doing so.

Just a reminder, Dorothy

Some time back I began collecting 'Easy as Falling Off A Bike' into 50 episode blocks.

Later, PS took over and has continued the collections. Up through episode 1450 they can be found here:

http://easyasfallingoffabike.tglibrary.com/

This will save you from having to read the one at a time. The only thing you will miss is the comments.

And, as was mentioned there are resources here:

to help you wade through some background info in getting going.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I Really NeedThis Too

Thanks for pointing me to the summary collections.I too was hesitant to begin reading this again (I started at the beginning the first time as Ang wrote each daily piece, but somehow got waylaid) Be good to digest in 50 chapter chunks.

I had the same question, Dorothy

I didn't get caught up in the series, and chose not to start in the middle. It kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally, I realized that if I wanted to read it, I had to go back to the beginning. I forget how long it took me to get through a thousand or so episodes (a week or so), but once I started, there was no putting it down. Start from the beginning. You won't regret it.

Snigger....

The last part is not exactly avoidable. It takes time but it is worth it.

It's worth starting at the beginning.

I'm with you got pointed to it by the wonderful Cyclist and have been killing about 6 to 7 chapters a day during down time at the day(ugh)job.
