Muse not cooperating?
I just do not understand. What do you mean your muse isn't cooperating with you. It is your muse, it should always just do what you want.
Mine has been on strike for TG fiction for two months, and for my non-fiction work I am writing, has been in protest for over a week. So much so I can't even do editing the last three days.
Oh, I guess I do understand your problem. I will try to go out to a movie with a friend tomorrow night to see if that helps my muse get invigorated again for at least my non-fiction piece. If not, I will have to pull out the big guns. I don't like going to that extreme for I usually loose even if my muse gets back to work, so I hope the movie works. Good luck with getting your muse back to work. Just remember, all the authors who rely on one have trouble from time to time getting it to cooperate.

It's no good tying a muse down or trying to tame it.
A muse has to fly free and experience life then it'll chose the writer like a stray cat chooses a new servant. We mostly write from our experiences and our muse must also gain different experiences.
Try leaving out some paper, pen and ink, (or altenatively a lap-top,) that sometimes attracts one.

What's a muse?
My main characters always speak to me directly... I haven't had any use for a muse for years, they're just middlewomen, you know? They're the characters Agent. I started working with freelance characters and will never work with a muse again.

You see, freelance characters are much more involved in selling themselves, so they have to give even greater output than the characters represented by a muse.
A writer who uses freelance characters gets to know them far more intimately than a writer who uses a muse ever gets to know the characters the muse provides them with.
