Apologies to my several readers

I am sorry that I haven't been writing much lately, real life has got in the way and I have been rather busy of late.

I hope to continue Football Girl in the new year, but I am not sure where I am going with Beaches and whether I will actually continue it as comments, kudos and readers seemed to have dropped sharply from the initial chapter. That type of story is time consuming and due to the historic and geographic aspects, it can get very complicated. I did want to collaborate with another author on the story, but never got around to it. I did try collaboration once on another story and was rather let down.

Anyway, for those of you interested, I will, as is my custom, be writing a Christmas story, just so that I don't get too rusty.

I would once again like to thank everyone who is kind enough to read, comment and kudo thingie my stories. I really appreciate your input.

Hugs and best wishes

Sue

Comments

a fresh idea

The advantage of another writer is the fresh ideas. The bad is that trying to tell them how to write is more likely to get them to leave.

For myself kudos means nothing, so does hits, Comments mean the world to me because it gives me the feedback to continue.

I have read some of football girl, I am not a fan of sports so i lost interested in it. though the white dress with the 'period' behind a podium part was cute.

Your stories are usually very well done. I personnaly avoid comments because I usually end up offending someone somehow.

Pity About "Beaches"

joannebarbarella's picture

I do sympathise about Real Life getting in the way and nobody is going to knock you for that.

For my two cents I think it would be a pity if you abandoned Beaches because it "only" got 1100+ reads, 13 comments (genuine ones, not padded by replying to them) and nearly 60 kudoes on Chapter 3. these are figures that make us journeymen green with envy.

Anyway, whatever you write I don't think it will be unpopular,

Joanne

1100 hits!

Angharad's picture

thats more than most of my stuff gets, though I usually have a few kudos per posting. Quite frequently I wonder why I bother - I easily give hundreds if not thousands of hours per year to the readers here for very little reward.

Then I remember most of the readers are casuals who only take, besides I think they have to be signed in to comment or kudos. The members are much more generous, but then they have reasons to be, most are friends or fellow scribblers who know how it feels to receive or not comments and kudos.

Keep going, those who know you appreciate your efforts.

uhm ok ill keep quiet about the 2k hits some of my stuff seems to get then.

As one of your several

As one of your several (thousand?) readers, I love your work and get a real lift when I see a new chapter of Football or Beaches show up on the front page here.

I think your stories are wonderful.

The thing I like about your stories is that they do not contain needless sexual energy, but seem to focus on character development and accuracy.

I feel your discouragement and understand very well. Readers are fickle and selfish, but it is what it is.

I too find that I am on BCTS less lately because my own life has gotten busier, and most of that time, what I get involved in is satisfying and needed. Dealing with people on a face to face basis is usually better for me than doing it electronically.

Much peace
