Fred Saberhagen, author of 60 novels, creator of the Berserkers and the original series with Dracula as an urbane, thinking character (a year before Ann Rice), died June 29th 2007 in Albuquerque, NM of cancer. He was 77.

R.I.P. to one the greats of Sci-fi and fantasy, and a genuinely nice guy.

I very much enjoyed his Swords series. A great loss for the sci-fi/fantasy community.
