I should be the last to complain as I am not creative as our wonderful Authors are,BUT I have 15 stories that I have started to read (I like to print all my stories to read them complete) and thier have been no new chapters in over 2 weeks ,it is because life comes first or because negative comments?? Don't stop writing because a few people done like the sart of the story write for your enjoyment and the enjoyment of those who love to read these great stories. They are not just TG but mysteries--scifi-magic and you get my point KUDOS TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL CREATIVE WRITERS that's all I wanted to say HUGS & KISSES TO ALL --RICHIE2

Comments

Time between postings.

There could be numerous reasons why there are no new postings in a story you like. Personally, I had a two week period with no new posting in one of my stories because my editor got sick.

If you're really worried about the story, let the author know. I appreciate it myself and some PMs have kicked me in the butt to get certain stories back up and going.

Good Idea

Thanks Faeriemage that is a good idea contacting the writer and I know life comes first RICHIE2

I know what you are saying!

It's worrying because some authors have up and left us due to criticism of their work. I have to admit, I posted a critical comment this week, but I tried to be nice about it. I can accept critical comment (please!). I cannot correct mistakes in my writing if I don't know about them. Please be nice, but be honest. If I post something offensive or just WRONG, tell me! I do not want to offend anyone, but I confess that when the inspiration strikes, I tend to write it down as quickly as I can, so that I don't forget anything. I agree with richie2, don't let abusive comments get you down! As Lilith showed recently, if something bothers you, speak up!
Most of the folks here are wonderful, and I love it here!

My Muse ran off elsewhere to have an affair…

My own difficulty is that impass traditionally know as "writer's block." It feels like my Muse is off somewhere, having an affair with another writer!

Although I did publish a new chapter of Whose Irish Eyes Be Smiling yesterday, La Suite Danse Macabre, To See Through a Glass Darkly, & O My Son! My Daughter, Absolom! are well behind schedule. I also have two short-stories unrelated to these under preparation.

I plead guilty!

I do, in mitigaton, have several excuses. Real life is a real sod at times, as I would love to be able to spend all my time writing. However, I still have to eat and pay the bills. Finding a balance between what one has to do and what one wants to do can be hard. That having been said, one still depends on one's muse to keep going and often she has a well earned holiday, usually when one would rather she didn't.

I do, however, admit to not taking much notice of comments. I like nice ones and don't often get negative ones. I don't take criticism too hard as I do not claim to be perfect and all of us can learn from others. Also, one doesn't have to agree with negative comments.

I know that I have stories to finish, and so I promise that I will try to complete them soon. If anyone sees my muse on a beach near you, please ask her to come home.

There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!

You're complaining about a mere two week gap!

Blimey! I tend to put a newly written story aside for a month before rereading it and modifying it. It takes me months to produce a story (which, of course, is partly why I would never consider releasing a serial unless I had completed it all beforehand).

I'm guilty of this

and I've only got one story on this site (it's a bit pathetic on my part really). In my defence I'd like to plead that I've been really busy, but also I'm not really happy with the ending and this is probably more what's stopping me from finishing it (I'm still hoping to get it done, who knows when though). Well at least I've learnt that in future it might be a good idea on my part to have something finished before posting it, and maybe to try and keep it shorter
