Just a quick question. Has anyone started using Internet Explorer 9? I've had some warnings not to do it, but some of those people are still using Windows 95.

IE 9

Yes, I am using it. I've had no issues with it at all

I was wondering about IE 9

I've been getting some on line notices that I need to change to IE 9, but I decided that I would wait to see what others thought.

Works okay for me

Only works on Windows 7 and Vista. If you are still on XP it won't install...

I'll not be going....

I'll not be going to IE9 as the software we sell isn't certified to run there (and, in some cases doesn't work there). Due to that last bit - I'd hesitate to be the FIRST to jump to IE9 - unless you have some other (older) browser available to you... If you run into problems on some site.

That said, I have friends using it, and those that are LOVE it... Sounds like M$ FINALLY addressed some of the performance issues in JavaScript.

IE9

I'm running Vista and it screwed it up in minutes. Don't touch it with a barge pole unless you're using Windows 7.

I've heard from a friend

I've heard from a friend whom deals with browser design for a living, that IE9 whilst not perfect, is a step in the right direction. So if you use IE and like IE, then IE9 is a good upgrade if it's available. However if you prefer FireFox or Chrome or Safari, then well, just use what you prefer now.

IE9

I have been using IE9 and it works great with my Windows 7 64 bit version. The hardest thing to get used to is the location of the favorites button. It is now up in the right corner of the screen by the X button. I keep on going back to the original location that it has been in for years. Other than that, I haven't had any problems with it. I just upgraded to a new HP tower from my HP laptop and it screams. 12GB of ram with a 1TB hard drive.

I am using the 32 bit version if IE9 as the 64 bit version won't handle my yahoo start page, but other than that, the security has been beefed up.

Why IE9

Why would anyone want to use IE and 9 espicially. IE is evil and is used by devil. Use firefox 3.6.x! (nine-tailed fox would be better but it doesn´t sound). It Has very pleasant GUI (for those nostalgic, it resembles more or less remotly IE6 and older) with some good perks. What more it runs everywhere (Mac, Linux, Windows, even on win98, if you use KernelEx)

Well enough of advertisement, but it really is good browser.

For some strange reason

My computer will not allow me to access Mozilla Firefox at all. It does not even bring it up. I suspect some kind of virus (I'm really wondering if I just need to purge everything and restart from the defaults), but I'm not sure.
